Thanks. I'm thinking I should do something with the WW2 version starting from scratch instead of just altering the modern Shield.

I was thinking of doing the same.

Looks cool, but you've fallen into a fairly typical pitfall (for Americans, at least) : Canada didn't have the maple leaf flag until 1965. Before that, we just used the Union Jack
Aw well, he's still a cool design

Argh, you're right!!!
I originally designed him as a current-day hero, and then threw the helmet and such on him for a WW2 version, but I didn't even think of the darn costume itself!
Now I must go punch a bear.
Although, having now thought deeply upon it (and defeated a bear in unarmed combat), I'm going to keep it. The Maple Leaf was a Canadian and regimental symbol even before it became our flag, so it's not unreasonable to assume he couldn't have had it.

Also, you may want to look into Canadian Army Outfits, which differed from US troops. The helmet he's wearing wasn't really used by them.

These books, by the by, are a great series.
And why does the Goat know so much about Canadian Military Uniforms of WWII? I had to do research on them as they were the prevailing troopcount to liberate Holland where my mother and family were.

Thanks a lot! I was trying to stay generically WW2-ish, but of course our Canadian helmets have to be all wide-brimmed and not generic.
Thanks a lot for makin' me look dumb, Canada!

Pfft you kidding, this stuff is tough work to research. I was under the impression for a long time that the troops that liberated Holland were primarily Brits and Americans. Call me astounded when 60% of them were Canadians :3 We have quite a few Canadian WWII memorials *and* cemetaries in their honor.
