Thanks to her father’s intensive training Johanna’s become quite adept at reading body language and anticipating actions, although her specialty is in reading sheep. However, she thinks she has poor social skills. In her mind since she rarely leaves her farm she believes she shouldn’t have any social skills, and because of that she can become quite awkward around new dogs. She’s just not sure how to act around creatures that aren’t sheep. It may take awhile, but once she eventually warms up to someone she gets past her awkwardness and is nothing but kind and sincere. Her parents always taught her to be honest above all else, so that’s what Johanna does.

Johanna doesn't really like to leave her comfort zone. She can be quite inflexible when it comes to new environments or situations. She is more than content to stay on her farm and avoid all the issues of the other factions that she has been hearing whispers of. She is often prone to anxiety if she is forced out of her comfort zone though, due to stress that’s caused by over-thinking and worrying. While sometimes her over-analyzing can help her in her job, to see various probabilities or outcomes while herding, it more often than not causes her to stress about scenarios that’ll probably never happen.

Pre-Group History: Johanna's mother, Addie, was a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog that The Farmers' had gotten as a wedding and housewarming gift, as they had recently moved to Canidale. Johanna’s dad Stirling was a mutt, a large white furry canine who was a mix of different livestock guardian breeds, although Great Pyrenees seemed to be the dominant one. He had already been with The Farmers for a few years before Addie came along, as he came from quite a long line of various herding and livestock guardian breeds that had watched over The Farmer's sheep. The Farmer’s decided to breed the two to start the next generation of sheep herders for their new farm in Canidale.

And so Addie then gave birth to Johanna, however she was the only one of her litter. As the only one of her litter, her dad put a lot of pressure on her to be the best shepherd possible to live up to her lineage. Sometimes her father's expectations would get to be too much, but spending time in the field with the sheep always calmed her down. She does her best to live up to her father's standards regardless, and has been working hard to become as good a shepherd as him.
