Description
I took a ride to Espoo, Finland with *Toope to shoot this exquisite water tower that consists of four large water tanks and several columns. All the tanks were lit with yellowish light (artificial light).I usually take pictures of landscapes, so this must be the very first architecture shot I have in my gallery. It's a funny thing they always seem to build all neat structures in the middle of woods here, so I had to go very close to the tower to crop out all the trees. The picture was taken with Peleng 8mm fisheye which I borrowed from *Toope . I hope you like it.
No filters nor HDR technique were used in the shooting process
And this is not a 3D rendering although for some reason it looks a lot like one.

It's pretty awesome. No HDR, you said? Because the colors pop out like... something that pops out. It's really neat looking.

:/ looks like 3D rendering I don't know how people saw that
....I guess it's hard to imagine how some scene look with a long exposure.
This is very beautiful. I love the symmetry and contrasting colors!

the aperture of 1.8 seems to denote a shallow DOF, yet, the photo shows sharpness overall. it confounds me! would you mind explaining why this happens? is it due to the short focal length?
beautiful shot btw. lovely

peleng 8mm is completely manual, it doesn't send any info to the camera. I'm not quite sure why my camera makes up these weird f-numbers. I can't remember which aperture stop I used in this picture Thanks for your comment.

Really impressive. Not to be rude but it's the first thing that's really gotten my attetion of yours in a long time. Not that your other work isn't great, but it's always so much the same thing.

I -love- this shot. The fact that the architecture is pretty interesting in itself makes this all the more awesome and inspiring. Really digging the perspective and dead-centred alignment. Very nice. The colours and the sharp clarity are gorgeous. And the imaginative part of my mind (which takes up a huge portion) just can't help but see myself as being really tiny, looking up at mushroom umbrellas.
Fantastic stuff

This is probably the first time I've thought that these water towers looked beautiful. To speak the truth I really like those things for some reason but beautiful, no, not necessarily. Quitting the chit-chat.
I really like the angle you've used here to create such a wicked illusion, to me this looks like a huge glass-walled tube you could walk in in some strange space station or something. That's pretty neat.
And yes, a bit different from usual style but it still has that quality you tend to have in your shots and I'm not quite whether it is in the colours or framing or what but there's something that makes me think this is yours. Something typical to your style but can't put it into words. Babbling again. Hope I didn't confuse you too much. :3

that sky is beyond textbook. and your shutter speed reads "30/1 Second", surely it should read "1/30" right? Unless this was in the evening, with a crazy blue color sunset!?!? haha...
that f/1.8 on the fisheye is amazing!
niiiiice work.

This was in the evening yes, Date Picture Taken: May 19, 2007, 10:05:52 PM. The sun had set some time ago, but the tower was lit with artificial light (see it coming from several directions). Thanks for your comment.
