Wow, that was weird . . . I had this picture sized to around 600 X 800 and it flipped the thing. I was hoping it was just an error on the part of the uploader, but noooo . . . I hope this is not a new DA trend.Anyway, it's (hopefully) a picture of an elephant. My Grandfather collects statues of elephants, so this is sort of in honor of his hobby/mad collecting skills. Because I keep looking out for elephant paintings/sculptures/etc. Not that I buy the things, but my eyes tend to zoom in on elephants now.

This is pastel, no? I really like your use of "unexpected" colors...like the browns and the pinks...b/c they work well on making a really vibrant yet accurate piece -- one of my art teachers said never to use straight-up black for example for that very reason, it can dull the life a bit.

Me? Play a bassoon solo? I think they'd be hard pressed *not* to laugh. In fact, they might possibly buy the picture if they knew it would get me to stop playing . . . ^.^ (If I made any noise from the instrument at all!)

I actually went onto youtube and put on a bassoon solo and stared at it and dared myself not to laugh. I failed.
Bassoons and elephants are always hilarious when used in conjunction of each other.

Everyone needs more laughter in their lives. It's very healthy and cathartic. Doctors should prescribe it more often. "Chills, comma, diarrhea, comma, sore throat, comma, lack of laughter, comma . . ." I can just hear them transcribing the chart now. "Patient to receive at least 5 minutes of laughter daily, recommend patient purchase Dr. Demento CD to
speed things up . . ." (Sorry. My father's a doctor. I hear this kind of thing A LOT because he can't type worth beans.)
Actually, though, I kind of like the sound of bassoons. Banjos, now . . . *wince*. And here I live in KY. You can't get away from evil banjos.
