I love the variations of brown. Not one color is the same. The rich oak? pops simultaneously muted by the rich and dark tones of your sex. The pale tone of your skin lending a balance that is pleasing to the eye. Lovely as always.

This is truly amazing! Remember my comment elsewhere about adding that third dimension and 'breaking out of the box' so to speak. This is exactly what I meant, the effect is striking and literally adds a whole new dimension. This is an exciting piece Felicity! I want to flip this 180ΒΊ to see what it looks like in that orientation. Superb, you've outdone yourself. I'm so proud of you.

thank you! I do remember you mentioning the 'breaking out of the box' idea, and feel the same myself
it'll be useful if you have a laptop and can just turn the whole thing upside-down to see it that way
thanks again There is actually another dimension in this picture (albeit not emphasized) in the motion blur at the top right square, that I found interesting as well

Very nice concept and excellent job making the table and floor areas blend together between panes! I'm not surprised that this took hours.

Thank you! I've had this in mind for ages, and only had time to work on it now
Thanks too for noticing the table and floor blending... That took a very very long time to do!

I'm not surprised the blending took a long time -- but you did a very good job!

That's really cool. This reminds me of one by one of my favorite photographers: [link] , and several others like it. However, your use of using the borders of stuff just outside the small space really sets yours apart. Nicely done Felicity!

Thank you! I hadn't really noticed the borders of stuff closely until you mentioned it; it seemed appropriate to include them for some reason... (but I have seen various other collages, and you do make sense about the borders of stuff, I hadn't paid attention to that in other works before =o)
this looks like a really huge table or something with many compartments beneath

It really does. What exactly was it though?

it was a tiny square table with things on it, somewhat carved... come to think of it, it is probably pretty expensive

I don't think i'm in a position to write an actual critique seeing as I have little to no experience as a photographer or artist...however I would love to give you my honest opinion.
This photo is absolutely amazing. All of the positions and the placement of each photo go so well put together as they are, and it's a very original photo as a whole. Very very nicely done!

thank you!! I didn't really look too closely at the placement of the pictures after the first time, but now that you've mentioned it, I'm seeing much more in how the tiles link up together. =o
thanks again!

The computer certainly spends hours and days on processing images. I generally do not get that technical with editing unless I am doing sets or manipulations. This one however would make a darned interesting print. Would have to be at least 6000 pixels on the long side though. It is a good clean balance of color and tone throughout which can be difficult to achieve.

agxposed In reply to skiesofchaos [2012-02-03 19:01:20 +0000 UTC]
thanks The original image is almost 7000 pixels on the long side... Takes close to forever to save though.

skiesofchaos In reply to agxposed [2012-02-03 19:07:20 +0000 UTC]
That is a good size for a decent print. I typically work at around 6000 to have decent print options. Just the thing though for a mens smoking lounge.
