Description
An oil painting on canvas 60 x 80, of a photo we took on a trip to Italy (Firenze), of 'The Monument to Dante' by Enrico Pazzi in front of Santa Croce.Well known from Dante Alighieri is 'La Divina Commedia'; an epic poem about an imaginative journey of the soul through the 'Afterlife'.
It's a confrontation with our sins and the search for 'The Path of Righteousness' towards the very 'Essence of God'!
Throughout history, people have been contemplating about what awaits us in the afterlife: Hell or Heaven ?
I'm not really religious but hope for the latter!!

Ja weet niet goed waarom, maar wou dit al lang doen. Wou de achtergrond wel eerst anders, maar dat zou te druk geworden zijn, alhoewel ik er aan denk om toch nog iets met de tijd bij te voegen... we zullen zien,he!

Het is bijna ongelooflijk dat je dit met olieverf gedaan hebt! Het lijkt zo zacht, bijna als pastelkrijt! Mooie techniek in ieder geval!
