Description ...I found this piece of goat skin this morning by the sea. It has intricate signs on it, Arabic I guess. The writing is not affected at all by the sea water. I’d appreciate if anybody could let me know what it says. I guess it is an Al'Qaeda message...

A major difference between Chinese and Arabic calligraphy is that when the art form began to evolve on the Arabian Peninsula in the sixth and seventh centuries, calligraphers there had to make do with goat skin, bark and cloth. The roughness and low absorbency of these materials might have channeled Arabic calligraphers into developing an aesthetic centered on pattern and intricacy.

In China, where paper was invented in A.D. 105, calligraphers focused their search for beauty on the rich expressive possibilities of the brush-ink-paper medium: texture and immediateness.

In A.D. 751, Arab and Chinese armies clashed in a battle on the Talas River in present-day Kyrgyzstan. The Chinese were defeated, and among the prisoners taken by the Arabs were Chinese paper makers. Having learned the art of paper making from Chinese, the Arabs transmitted the craft to Europe several centuries later.

As bad95killer has said, it is indeed an Arabic talisman aka. sorcery. Search it up on Google images and you'll see many similar examples.

In Arabic culture, talismans and sorcery have the power to manipulate the minds of people causing them to hate/love a person, create social or financial problems, cause audio/visual hallucinations and insanity, etc.

It's not surprising at all that you would find it in the sea as sorcerers in the Middle East go through great lengths to make spells impossible to find. In Islamic culture, sorcery is forbidden and is punishable by death because of the harm it causes to people (and animals as well since they're often sacrificed in the process).

Also, there are - what you may call - anti-sorcerers/exorcists in Islam who believe that the best way to break a spell is to find the actual talisman/hex that is causing it. This is evidenced by a famous "hadith" (Arabic word for a quote or event) in which the Prophet Mohamed pbuh was afflicted by sorcery and the Angel Gabriel came and told him the location of the spell which was hidden in a well. By finding the spell and reciting the last two "surahs" of the Quran, he was able to break the spell.

And that's why you found it where you did...if you still have it, take it a mosque and ask the imam about it. The world is a far more mysterious place than we are told...

Aside from all that, great pic!!!

The battle of Talas and the battle of Tours both establish the limits of Islamic expansion

Oh sure, I'll translate... It's something about Allah's will, it mentions the Pentagon and the White House, oh it also features a game of tic tac toe played by Saddam and George on the 18th of September 2004.

Happy April Fool's Day

nice picture bro...i love it.

well i'm Arabic and i understand what it is saying.

well, all what i can read is the Arabic names of Allah (there are 100 names of God in Islam).

hmmm but this is not all, this is really creepy,

the stuff in the middle (the chart) is the part i couldn't understand...its kind of voodoo writing ....could be positive, could be negative.!!!

i don't know what was used to for writing....maybe blood!!

i don't know a lot of about these stuff...but i have a question for you?

Do you still have that thing or not?....i will ask an expert about it.

if so...i need you to tell me..
1. Where did you find it (location).
2.What else did you find with it?
3. Can i see some pictures covering the whole thing?

i might do me a big favor....cuz this might be a thing made so separate between two people or connect between two people...as they don't want to!

its "Conjuring".

Aaah, I love this! It looks so surreal... Like it's not a photo, yet it's not anything else. Wish I lived by the ocean and randomly found goatskins with Arabic written on them. Maybe it'd help me paint better, lol.

It looks like tic-tac-toe to me, only with I's and E's instead of X's and O's. Somehow, I doubt that Al'Qaeda is sending secret messages in bottles written on goat skin. Then again, what do I know?
