Val and Ravus from Holly Black's Valient, a modern tale of fearie.I read the book once again a couple weeks ago and liked it a lot more than before. Ravus's character really stuck out to me so I had a lot of fun drawing him, but it's still not how I pictured him. I know val looks a little older too.... next pic I'll make her look more young and Ravus a little more sexy.
Ref pose i used was a dvd cover from Roswell season 2, michael and maria.

I think you're right. The book mentions a couple of times that Val is a redhead. And Ravus' eyes are supposed to be black with gold edges, "like the eyes of a frog."

I thought 'Valiant' was better than "Tithe', just because Val is a more relatable character the Kaye.

I was just thinking that the pose was very realistic ^_^. your Ravus is actually much closer to what I was imagining than any picture I've drawn yet. I like the way you dealt with val's shaven head, even though I don't think it would be that long yet. all together it's a great picture.

one of my favoright books, i have a ton of trouble drawing him, i thing its the under bite and teeth that make it hard for me, hard to make him as hot as i know he is and stay true to his troll origins with the long hair and jutting teeth, sigh..."i'll hold my breath" i died at that part...
