Description
How stupid I must be to venture downthis too familiar road of love’s regret.
My loathsome heart, it holds me as a pawn,
a vulgar passion traps me in its net.
I hate your perfect face, your wretched smile,
The baleful way in which you say my name.
Your shining beauty fills my throat with bile.
How dare you take my heart as yours to claim.
This whole endeavour’s foolishness defined,
A masochistic farce, a fruitless fling.
Yet your embrace is warm, your lips are kind,
And life without you seems a worthless thing.
If sense tells me I should leave you behind,
then useless is this brick I call a mind.

apch, so lovely! It's really hard to write love-centric poems/stories without it being cliche but your language certainly sets it apart. And I loved the pacing, with the number of syllables you used for each line, it's a little longer than you'd expect and gives it a more natural flow, much less sing-songy rhyme time.

Hehe, why thank you~! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I suppose it helps when I've got a decent source of inspiration for the subject.
