Well, I discovered that I'm absolute crap at GIMP, couple with the fact that no matter what I couldn't figure out how to get my pen pressure to work. So, I purchased Photoshop CC for myself on my desktop in the hopes that it would make commission work/drawing in general a lot easier. Surprise: it has!My first dip back into art was redrawing a couple 'color palette challenges' I did in early 2014 of my six AftEr girls. It's weird seeing the style change even though the colors stay the same. I'm happy either way.

i imagine photoshop is a bit of a step up from GIMP hahaha its cool that the free softwares exist to get people started up but the paid programs generally save you time enough to make them worth the money

I tried for like a month to use GIMP and could barely get used to it. I have friends who have never used anything else and have no issue, but it was a huge step back for me and I couldn't shake it. Plus it wouldn't register my tablet's pen pressure which made art impossible?!? But my recent commission sheet was done in GIMP so that was something that came out of it. I don't mind paying $10/mo for something, like you said, will save me time in the long run.

i've been playing with the idea of not using pen pressure for lineart but i do imagine it makes painting pretty difficult hahah
the time you save is more time to spend working on actual art rather than fighting a program x)
