Adventures with Daz Studio UpdatesThere it was in the Daz Install Manager, waiting patiently for weeks if not months: the update to Daz Studio 4.11.0.383. Okay, fine, I guess it was time. I clicked on install.
And things promptly went to hell.
My renders suddenly looked... off. Jagged. Pixilated. Here's an example below. Look at the edges of Duster's costume and body, her face, her boots, and you'll see it. Granted it's a test render, but if you've seen similar test renders on my blog, or here in my scraps, you'll acknowledge this one looks a lot worse than those.
I asked for help on the Daz forums but didn't have a lot of luck. It was time to dig into the render settings. I took the classic troubleshooting approach: change one thing and test. I did several test renders, altering settings one at a time to see what made a difference. Eventually I tracked it down to two items und

That's right! I had trouble with her old models. She can't fully close her eyes or the eyeball would go through. Now the issue is solved!
