I work mostly with photoshop. I use brush work (color or dodge tool) , masked layering with different settings, levels , color balance and HSVs.

Excellent, wondered why the aircraft was at 10% flaps until I saw the source pics...
The manip is a cool combonation and the coloration is awsome.
