I always wondered if Lena is a (maternal) relative of the Kankers.  In fact, I used to think that Lena was the inspiration for them (I wonder if I'm not alone)...

Also--have you seen the behind-the scenes clip for this scene?  They literally have a stagehand grabbing and vibrating Hoskins' cheek, with Lena's lips superimposed over the stagehand's hand!  It's quite hilarious!
