Description
For those of you have ever wondered about the courtship ritual of phoenixes, here's how it looks, at least as envisaged by the puppeteers of the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi. Water puppetry in Vietnam dates back to the 11th century and the puppets are made from lacquered wood. They are controlled by rods beneath the surface of the water and the puppeteers are hidden from sight behind a bamboo screen.
