Description Noncommercial. Link to finished work if possible. Not restricted to use on deviantART. Chart depicting the evolution of Abedic from early hieroglyphs.

The diagram, from right-to-left: 1.Egyptian Hieroglyphs; 2.Egyptian Hieratic; 3.Phoenician Alphabet; 4.Cumae Alphabet; 5.Neo-Etruscan Alphabet; 6.Archaic Etruscan Alphabet; 7.Old English Alphabet; 8.Modern English Alphabet; 9.Abedic Alphabet.

The evolution between scripts can be clearly seen. Studying scripts, you can pin-point where both Hebrew and Sanskrit broke away during the evolution.

In early 2001, I set out to create a script designed specifically to favor neither hand when being written. Amongst other trainings, it was one way to begin working on ambidexterity. By the Summer Solstice, I had adopted an early version of the script in the left-most column of this diagram.

I call this script the Abedic, as the Abeda are the adept apprentice level before the master level of Magi in the alchemy that I study. Seen here, in its isolated form, it is merely "interesting". Seen written in its fluid form, it becomes a new way to study the formation of symbolic language.

An example of the Abedic in writing can be found on my non-stock profile here: [link]
