My entry for and elements contest.I chose the element earth once again because I felt like drawing a lot of rocks again. xD
This is definately a place I wouldn't want walking barefoot on.
Yet another picture which started as a simple random sketch and ended up like this.
A part of the tree isn't detailed because I wanted to let go from the strict lines a little bit and leave the leaves almost melt together with the sky. Also, I liked my pencil strokes there and I didn't want to draw over them.
I decided to treat this wolf like a dragon and therefore had more freedom to draw such details which belong to his body.
It might be "hard" stroking this guy. xD
Yet he provides a nice shadow for you!
Watercolours and coloured pencil on Bristol board.
It took me 16 hours as far as I can remember.

He's a beautiful guy. The mixture of water color and pencil turned out beautifully. I love the transition of detail on the tree to the sky. A very nice effect. Wonderful work.

This is gorgeous! It reminds me of Bev Doolittle's works. All the textures meld together very well and the colors look beautiful

This is cocking ace. There's nothing critical I can say about this that wouldn't be nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking. The depth of some things is ambiguous -- it's not clear whether the mountain-shaped parts are mountains in the background or whether they're small projections atop the wolf-spirit's body, and there's how its antlers merge into the tree branches -- but it's not a bad thing; I think it works well in this piece.

This would be my wallpaper if it came in 1280 pixels wide. Any chance of a larger version? I'm just in love with how the earth and the wolf's body are blended together here... there is something really dragonish about it, and really profound as well, the connection between animal and earth.

It looks really perfect, the colors you choosed, the idea you made alive, I can see a legend here
I also love the way you put details around with the elaves, the rocks, and also with the branches too!

Sometimes when I look at it, I always think I could have done better as in putting in details and colours. But it's always quite difficult on such a small format. XP
