Description Civilisation

Another man is waiting for his breath to arrive
Under the low sky.
Cracked paving slabs, decaying with the old brick houses,
Crumbling underfoot.
Another demon laughing,
Seeing another madman awaken.
A dying man,
Hoarding the precious herbs that killed him.
An apocalypse of rising suns
Beyond themselves, showing pink distaste
For the crowd sprawling buildings
In front of their horizon.
An urge to kill the mocking birds
Blocking their view.
The melting scents
And stormy skies
That pave a society.
Crowded, crooked lanes
Crying horror
At the claustrophobia of houses,
In need of purging of the toxins
Littering the pavements.
The age-old cry, ‘Hallelujah!’
Resounding, unfamiliar,
In polluted air.
A utopia for criminals,
Where the shattered concrete ground
Is made of stolen gold;
A thousand men and women unable to find it,
When only thieves can dig
Beneath the roads to reach it,
At risk to a sudden cave-in
Called the Law.
This place is not worthy
Of the title,
‘Civilisation,’
This is filthy searching
For an unbroken home
