I was not sure exactly where to post this, I chose the area where one would expect to see death. This is a social issues poster that I created in college...I must warn you that it does contain real photos. This image may not be for the faint of heart. My approach was not to offend or repulse...I just wanted to shock the audience with the imagery....then pull at their heartstrings a little. Please take the time to view this one full screen.....I think that the line I wrote on the bottom of the image is one of the most intense statements that I have ever made with my artwork..... I hit my point of taking abortion lightly after my Aunt aborted her baby just because the doctor told her it "might" be downs. I have a sister with downs and I think of her no different then anyone else, she's special. My aunt ended up going through with it at 7 months and I just couldn't handle it. It felt like someone might as well put a knife through my sister's heart.

I know that abortion can leave some emotional scars on a woman, which is why I really worry about so many young women making this choice.
I don't know if I could do it... to myself, or to the new life forming.
But then again, I am one of those people who takes in lost dogs and sick kittens so I might be a little more sentimental and sensitive than most people.
Not that I think abortion is flat out wrong. It's just wrong for me. I've never been in the situation to have to deal with that question though. I can sympathize with those women who have had to make that decision. But not when abortion becomes a form of birth control. I knew a lot of girls in highschool who had multiple abortions. I thought that was very dangerous as it's hard on a woman's body and mind. Not to mention irresponsible.

True, I feel pretty similar to what you do....I wasn't completely against it, I felt that there were some situations where I could understand a woman making that choice. However, many of the photos that I saw while researching this topic sure made me feel even less apt to support it though. I was truly shocked at how such disgusting photos are available for even my twelve year old daughter to find on the internet. It even made me start thinking about how the internet does need some sort of laws governing it. Some of the things that I saw would scar most people for life. I really had to work hard to find an image that looked intense, but not one that would envoke trauma. I can't believe that there were actually doctors performing partial birth abortions and not feel like miserable murdering sons-of-bitches. sorry, I just never realized how sickening what they did was...and I'm so glad that Bush banned it in 2003. -thx for such an honest comment, its always a pleasure to talk/type to you.
