Description
Words are my lifeI can't draw what I see
I'm not a visual person
The sky may look beautiful
With those warm hues
Covering a cloudless canvas
But I can't recreate that
Not with paint brushes
Or chalk
Or crayon
Or even with my own blood
Words are my life
I can't draw what I see
I'm not a visual person
A reptile may look neat
With its rough skin
Tiny spikes and beady eyes
But I can't recreate that
Not with paint brushes
Or chalk
Or crayon
Or even with my own blood
Words are my life
I can't draw what I see
I'm not a visual person

>3 Thank you a lot, Tiesai. But I think it's really bad. I should have spent more time on it.

xD Are you asking if I was more of a writer than a poet?
Thank you, I really appreciate your comment.

This is an excellent poem. The repetition of the first stanza and the ending lines of the two descriptive stanzas really draw the whole piece together and give it a very solid and sturdy feeling. The imagery you use with your desciption of the sunset/sunrise and the reptile are very vivid. The concrete description is a nice contrast to the more abstract concept of "words are my life."
Would you consider a version of this poem using punctuation? While the flow is perfectly fine now, I think that adding punctuation might add more weight to those places where you would like the reader to pause.
A very excellent job, and a wonderful expression of something many writers feel. Bravo!

Wow, really? I never thought of the two stanzas (on this piece) as being that well descriptive, but thank you very much. I wanted to recreate what I was trying to say that I wouldn't be able to make [obviously] unless it was with words. But I'm sure you could already get that from the text. xD
And I think that's an exellect idea. I really wasn't trying too hard, this was more like free flowing of ideas to write the poem, but I wanted to get some feed back on it to see what comments I'd get.
Thank you again, Singer.

I really like this poem. You're very good at using descriptive language - I can practically see that sky and the reptile!
My main critique is that, in my opinion, you are relying a little too much on repetition. Three of the five stanzas are identical, and even the descriptions of the sky and reptile end the same way. Try changing it up a little! Variation in your stanzas makes the poem more interesting to read. You've done an excellent job of that in the artist's description when you wrote about books, and I think you can only benefit from going forward in that direction.
Keep on writing! c:

Wow, thanks.
And I think I'm relying on the repetition too much as well. The poem was origional only the first stanza, but then I wanted to keep going. It didn't really turn out as I wanted it to, but I thought getting some feed back might help.
So really, I appreciate the help!

Yeah, I can relate. My little sister has a Nook and she shows me the sample books she can buy. I feel so wrong reading it, though. It's just not the same. It's cold and unfeeling to me.
Thanks Connor. I'm glad you liked it.

I mean, nooks and kindles do have some pros (like cheap books ranging from .99 to 9.99) but it does feel a little weird not feeling the weight of the book and the pages. but I still use it ^_^

Yeah, I can agree with you on that. But still, like you've said, I still prefer an actual book.
