This is Lewis Garrett Zenk. He is my father... he died in September 2003.I really miss him... and I feel so lonely.

I remember every detail of that day from the time school let out.
We were walking home and you came over to my house. It was a good temperature. Not too hot, I remember. The sun really made you warm.
I remember the phone call I got from some lady, and what she said word for word, and how her voice sounded.
I remember making toast when you left, and it was ready by the time I found out, and as soon as I hung up the phone I cried my eyes out... That toast tasted like chewing on a square of carpet.
Then I remember the phone ringing again and it was you. I met you outside and we hugged, and went in the house for a couple of hours.
This is a very nice picture. It made me emotional instantly.

I remember calling my house late to say I was at your house, and it wasn't my mom or sister who answered, so I knew that something was wrong and that something was really wrong when she said to come over right away. I ran the whole way to my house, pretty much.. and she came out to the alley to meet me and I just knew.. it was horrible. I just collapsed.
you know in movies, when people find out someone is dead and they just scream "NO!!" in a long dramatic way? that's what I did, and I never make fun of movies that do that anymore.

Yeah, that was a pretty rough time indeed.
I still think about it and I constantly try to put myself in your position.
I just can't fathom the pain you must have felt. That's what made me cry.
