Am I the only person in the world who doesn't like to be told not to label themselves?

I feel like labeling yourself is fine, as long as you're not being annoying about it... like if someone's like YEAH IM A GANGSTA IM TOUGH and they're a 12 year old skinny kid that you can push over in a flick...that just gets annoying.
But I don't really care if you're like saying something that isn't super annoying. Like when someone says they're a geek or something, I don't really care unless they are far from it and just trying to get attention or something from that.
Super annoying to me is like when people are like "YEAH IM AN EMO SCENE QUEEN HIPSTER" and act like it's a big deal and we MUST be reminded of their label every minute. That and they just HAVE to conform to every stereotype of the label when they weren't like that before :\
Lol did someone say not to label yourself?

A+++ response.
Well, it happens a lot when I tell someone I'm goth. I mean, I'll be at a fucking GOTH CLUB and people will be lecturing others not to label themselves.
And once someone starts, I just 25.media.tumblr.com/61d9af15d3…
Like, it's not okay to label others, BUT DAMMIT YOU CAN LABEL YOURSELF

Lol wtf? From what I've gathered about you, you're like 130% goth and there just is no way that you wouldn't fit under that.
Yeah, exactly. I hated being labeled goth and emo in school because I just decided to wear black more than once a week. I had nothing wrong with goth because hey, I think it's pretty cool, but these kids were saying it like it's a bad thing. Emo, though, I dislike. They are saying that (1) I cut myself, (2) that they are ignorant fuqs to think it is funny or an insult to cut yourself and (3) that they have no idea what the emo stereotype is. Like...I wore whatever your average person would wear. But I guess if you compare me to the girls at the school, I was some person that was dressed for a big snow storm. 6th grade girls were already wearing ten pounds of makeup, shirts that show whatever little cleavage they have, and weird super tight yoga pants that show every particle on their butt. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for dressing how you want, but there's just something gross about seeing little tweens do that. They took pride in people thinking they had sex a lot (and bragging about how man condoms they have in their locker). Again, don't get me wrong...they can do what they want, but these girls were 12 and 13 at the time. Just no.

I don't understand why people get so annoyed... if you want to be something, you're something. Though it's not good to label OTHERS because you could be stereotypical/wrong.
