Ambitious - Blake tries to get ahead in life and always looks for opportunities to improve himself and his own life. He is a hard worker and has a lot of perseverance.

Relaxed - People often say that Blake is pleasant to be around due to only few things startling him or making him worry too much. He is one to try and keep his cool and figure things out in a calm demeanor instead of panicking (he gets fully invested in sports games though). Blake also has a way to just casually joke around without it being forced.

Charismatic - Blake has a certain charisma to him. He can display a great charm and due to his outgoing, laid-back nature as well as his looks, people think of him as pretty good company.

Levelheaded - Whilst he can come up with quite stupid ideas at times, he's still very capable of making rational decisions and being reliable. He has a sound judgement and is quite good at giving advice and motivating people.

Blake is very adaptive and can handle different situations well. Especially when things get stressful, he can usually keep a cool head. This allows him to calm people down, but he is also not afraid to speak out plainly to get through to someone. Mostly one to try and let people down slowly, a direct delivery of an "ugly" truth sometimes works best for him.

Background:
When Blake was younger he used to play ice hockey as it was a very popular sport in Canada. He was passionate about it, loved the sport and the thrill he got from it. But when he had to accompany his sister to horse riding lessons, he soon discovered the same thing in show jumping. A scar over his lip reminds him of that time and he still plays it frequently but more as a hobby than anything professional. As his interest and ambition in the equestrian discipline grew, his career focus swerved from ice hockey and he knew he wanted to build a career on show jumping instead. He got lessons in the discipline and developed an admirable ambition which led to him being allowed to compete with the school horses. To somehow be able to share the costs of it, Blake worked at the barn, Westverse Stud, in his freetime.
He was very successful at local shows and his parents planned with the stable to buy him his own horse. He still had to do well in school for his end of the deal however. His grades weren't the best, but they were decent and he got his first horse Vinyl Record.

Seeing as Blake was quite successful, it was arranged that he could transfer to Briar Mills Equestrian Center, the stable of Kayla Mills' brother, to train under Colin Rutherford, an Olympic entrant. He continued his deal and worked at the new stable. In regards to his riding, he showed quick progress, was a fast learner and very determined. He qualified for the North American Youth Championships with his horse Vinyl Record. He came in 7th in his first year. The following year he was back and won the title.
This was when the first sponsors started coming in. Things really picked up for him. He finished school and established a contract with Briar Mills. He also went on to study Equine Management (Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management) at the University of Guelph and made his Grand Prix debut.
Unfortunately, he had to retire Vinyl Record just three years after winning the championship with him due to severe knee problems. It took him a bit to find a horse that could follow up his Hanoverian gelding. But eventually, he found a few promising young horses, whom, with the guidance of his trainer, he was able to bring up to Grand Prix level and this experience was what inspired him to get into training horses himself as well. On top of that, he decided to want to train other riders and share the knowledge he had been fortunate enough to acquire too.
Nowadays, he not only works as a trainer and competitor but also holds the position of barn manager at Briar Mills. Whilst dealing with paperwork surely isn't his favorite thing, he is enthusiastic about everything in regards to the stable.

Blake has steady hands and a rather calm seat, especially during the approach. His legs tend to move over the jumps (example , example 2 ). Actually, I think he jumps a bit like a mix between the Philippaerts brothers. He can get a bit rein heavy at times but never tries to limit his horse too much. He works a lot with his seat, pushing his horse forward that way.
