Okay I have a lot to say about this1) I was hardly able to sit down for a long time to work on this
2) I was 10-11 years old when this comic was being uploaded to deviantart, holy crap. Which kinda makes me embarrassed because....like I said this story is from 2010/2011, and I read it 6 years later. I dunno, it just might be weird getting fan art for something that was completed ages ago also please don't look at the rest of my gallery I'm only just now making decent art the rest is old and awful.
Actually I found sugarpolyp through the 'undiscovered' art category for something more recent and I thought "this is neato" and after being shown more of his stuff I ended up reading Zitboy.Β
And 3) This comic was so cool to me, I loved the general style and especially Serge as a character because he seemed to warp and change all the time like some ungodly eldritch horror (honestly he probably *is* some hellish being). He broke the rules of panels and the layout was always new on every page and I loved everything about what the comic played with. It's kinda the reason I decided to make the comic that I'm doing right now that literally has no style consistency, oops, because I wanted to experiment with stuff as it went on.
PHEW. Okay. Done now.

Hey, this is awesome and unexpected! Thanks for the fanart and the kind words. Nice attention to detail and rendering. Some of the wrinkles in the upper body are particularly nice, they sorta look like a clay sculpture.
It is odd to get fanart for a project almost a decade old at this point but not in a bad way. Honestly It's bizarre to me to think there are people out there still running into Zitboy, I would have assumed it was buried too deep beneath all the newer content online at this point for anyone to find it. Zitboy is a technically unfinished comic series, I have a script sitting on my computer desktop that caps off the remaining 2 issues but I dont know yet when I'm going to draw them out.
If you liked issue 3 I would suggest reading through the comic "Stray Toasters" issues 1 through 4 by Bill Sienkiewicz, it was largely the inspiration for the visual approach of book 3, along with the paintings of Francis Bacon and Basquiat. Stylistic consistency is overrated. Enjoy!

Yeah, when I looked at the date it was submitted I was like....whew, geez, that's old. For better or worse deviantart likes to recommended stuff from pretty much the pit of a person's gallery off to the side. I remember reading that you planned to do more (or maybe it was implied?) but honestly I kinda assumed that wouldn't happen anymore.
Oke doke, I'll look it up. I always thought I'd be picky about art in a comic being consistent but from reading Zitboy I found out that I liked the effect the different styles had more than I did consistency. Thanks for the recommendation!

There are a lot of straps....I think Serge's were supposed to have little circles (like a belt will have holes) now that I look back on references, but I think it's fine
