Within the Somatic angels, the Selenis family is known as a lineage of scribes. Sanguis may be a deviance from this trade, but for centuries this has been the family's role. The Grand Scribe, an ancestor of Sanguis, frowns upon their socialite behavior and would rather they practice in their more 'honorable' line of work. There's a stereotype that the more sun-sensitive Selenis line are a bunch of shut-ins who do nothing but lock themselves up in the dark and write the day away.
