Description
Stones i found on my trip to Lanzarote in Jan of 2011.All natural colours, all i did was edit the frame and sharpen it a small bit.
I love all the different colours.

Neat i love the peridiotite xenolites in the basalt in the bottom right corner

These are all quite small, well, some are medium size. I love collecting all types of stones. Could i ask you a question? What causes the red crystals? I thought it was usually copper. Some of these stones have it, and i dont know what it is, or if they have a certain name.

Its most likely iron oxide (rust) bound in the lava that got heated from the remaining underground lava brightening the color but it also can be inddingsite which is weathered olvine (the green stuff)but takes allot of time . But most likely rust It cant be copper since its not often found in basalt lava but iron is really common in basalt in the form of magnetite

Ok! Thank you for that! Well i found it in a volcano, in which the side was all expossed. The tour guide said it was like a bubble burst and the volcano exploded there, instead of the top. It errupted in 1730.
Question, is it Olivine, or Olvine?

Olivine is the right name,Olivine is better known as Peridot(gem quality)

Yep i knew that lol i have a ring and 2 pairs of earrings with peridot in them!
