Those colors are really a great combination. The haircut, too. Did you have a template or inspiration? I personally would put her mane between the head and the horn, like this. But that's just my opinion.

The character itself was created as a mascot for the University of Washington (Seattle, Washington, USA) pony club that I'm a part of. The colors are basically just the UW purple and gold, modified a bit to work as a pony color scheme. Hairstyle wasn't really inspired by anything but me messing around with shapes, to be honest. This is the second vector I've done of her, you can see the first in my gallery. She's the first and only OC I've ever created so far, despite having been in the fandom for ~3 years, but I'm thinking of doing more since this one was fairly successful.
