Born to the noble family since the last 18th Century in England, Richard was the youngest son among his twelve brothers who've tried to earn the inheritance; Due to his long lineages of Mythic Hunters. It is a common practice that spent a millennium of hunting mythical beasts that roam across Europe that are considered to be a threat. Unlike Enoch and other ten brothers, his older brother named Samuel fell in love with a Sea creature or the locals called it the Merfolk named Nadia. but when Enoch catches his eye, he is desperate to claim her, but when he finds the truth of not only her being a Mermaid but her being his older brother's lover, this leads him to be furious at them both. This confrontation between the brothers would took place at the edge of a cliff, ending with the murder of Sam at Richard's hand. Over time, however, Richard began to harbor a great hatred towards the shapeshifters and beasts as he deemed them to be murderous creatures from Hell; even more thanks to those who mocked him. This led him to be recruited by the Forever Knights to help him with his goal.

Richard's hatred of the Shapeshifting creature, however, began to increase after the scar Nadia gave him in the face, cursing Nadia and all "impure" for his suffering. Fifty years before the series, he acquired a new identity as the Forever Knights Commander named Enoch who had great knowledge, ended the Shapeshifting Ages, a time when Changeling, and mythical beast live in harmony among human for 10,000 years without allowing themselves to be exposed. Due to the inspiration of these "impure" and considerations to be part of the mythology. He created the sigil stone that looks like a horseshoe known as gaggletack which used to reveal the mask of shapeshifters, and brand them with mark of obedience to control them while using them as spies to infiltration. Even if he had to wipe them out for good when they're still useful.

A couple of years later during his time as the headmaster and his prized pupil's demise, Enoch orders his subordinates to find out about everything there is to know about Ben, Gwen, Eunice, Rook and Kevin.
