To all Kingdom Hearts fans,

I'm rarely one to point out flaws in a public setting.  And what is more then a pubic setting then an internet page?  But this, this travesty in character alienations, cannot go on any longer.

I call you, all my sister and my brothers.  All my one-shot writers and novelist, all my sequel creators and alternative universe participators, all the fans and fanatics, there is a long-time standing problem in this genre and it is time that we need to call it out and fix it.  I know I'm not the only one offended like it.  No I am not.

I invite everyone of every flavor of writing story. From our adventure-seekers to our lovey-dovey romancers, to those who make Original Character to those who write Out of Character stories.  I invite Adventure and Western and ever genre in-between.  To the kid-friendly follow-up inscribers to the lemon producers:  Come one, come all.

I'm calling out a certain people who need be silenced.  Perhaps it is me, but when I spot one of these people, my interest in their reading material goes cold and my blood starts to boil.  I've never been quite angry before at the type of error portrayed by these folks, but oh do I wish blood to spill.

And no, I'm not talking about those individuals who write various "odd" parings such as Riku/Mickey and the lot.  You guys may have a weird fetishes and you are killing my childhood, but a lot of things in my real life have done that.  This is the internet and rule 34 states it's going to happen.  You guys scare me, but you don't anger me.  So yes, you are invited to this cause.

I'm not even talking about those school boys who just discovered Word Processor and have the need to compile all their favorite after-school cartoons into one story.  You children just discover writer and you shouldn't be discriminated for it; you're just having fun.  And let's face it, if you are going to do a giant crossover, you might as well do it in Kingdom Hearts since it already is a cross-over.  I may not partially like too many out of Disney and Final Fantasy things you sometimes put in the stories, but good for you taking your time to write on a computer instead of yelling at homeless people.  You lads are included in this too.

No, my problems stems from the fact that a certain group of females, yes I'm saying females because I don't think I've yet to really identify a male individual including in this wrong (though correct me if I'm wrong), but a group of females who just need to leave the fandom.  And before you get the sticks out, I'm not talking about the slash writers.  No, not gonna yell at you.  Not only would that be a slight hypocrisy on my part, but heck, they've been around since the Star-Trek days.  And before anybody wishes to voice their disgusting on this; fellows, if I go on your computer, I'm not going to find any rather compromising drawn pictures of various heroines will I?  Point is, no, this is not a rant against slash.

Though some of your numbers are included in my “target audience“.  The other part come from various Mary Sue creators.

No, I'm talking about blatant ignorance in a games dynamics.  I'm talking about issues where there should be no issue.  I'm talking about character bashing for stupid reasons.

I'm talking about the hate towards Kairi.

I've had it up to here with the constant messages in disclaimers about how people despise this girl.  I am repelled at the alterations of her personality in a story just to so you have a better excuse to make her the bad guy.  Oh sure, I could point out various illicit character bashing in various series, but I think this one is the most prominent one, the most appalling one, and especially the most unnecessarily wrong one.

This isn't like 'Teasing the Octopus, kiddies,' or 'Blasting off Again.'  These are recurring joke characters in their series.  They are suppose to get in harm and have a cheap laughs at their expense.  This isn't like 'Let's show how horrible a person Gaz is by having her cause Dib's doom' because guess what she is and guess what she's done in the show?  And this isn't even like 'make Chi-Chi yells and act like a total witch' because it's a dramatization of her character, but still close to her character of being a loud and over-bearing mother.

Whether because you want Riku and Sora to have some boy-love happy ending or because you are jealous of her and rather have your pseudo-self have either of them, because you folks I cannot enjoy my fan fictions.  And this isn't like a small problem which I can ignore.  This isn't like that hate for Iris, because even though I liked her, she was still in one game and had her flaws and hating her did not leave a damn dysfunctional dent in the whole thing.

Maybe I'm making a big deal out of this, but I don't think so.  This whole thing totally bugs me.  And I'll say why:

YOU are literally going against cannon.  AGAINST CANNON.  You claim to love the series, but this is butchering it.  Do you understand the whole her 'Princess of Hearts' issue, you dolts?!  This means NO DARKNESS in her heart.  Meaning CANNOCILY she cannot be a monster or a horrible she-dog.  Even her Nobody is a sweet-heart, and she's actually bashed on less.  If this was like Larxene I wouldn't care because oh my look at that, she is a nasty person in game.  But you go after a good girl, a honest good girl in the game.  I don't think there is even the remote sickening bashing anywhere else in Disney or Final Fantasy like I have seen here.

And hell, maybe if someone gave good reason, I might turn the other way.  But no, I have to say these are the dumbest reason I have ever heard.  Don't give that, 'It's my interpretation' or 'Her names means separations in this specific dialect' or blunt honestly, 'She's coming between Sora and Riku's obvious eternal love and must be killed off, that evil bitch!'

Wanna know something?  YOU ARE JUST WRONG!  No if, no debate, no crap.  Did you people actually play this game or did you just kind give up because you couldn't master mashing buttons?  Your interpretation is wrong because the real creators of the game say you are.  Her name means ocean, to tie along with Sora and Riku's name of 'sky and sand.'  Maybe if you gained knowledge instead of constantly expressing what you think, then you could learn something.

This is not that vindictive girl we all know who we tolerate to hang out with because she happens to be the daughter of the head of the P. T. A.  This is a big chuck of people.  And they just ruin the fandom because they easily brush away a key character in the game.  I can't enjoy my stories.  I don't like spotting in a disclaimer on how they wish a fictional character was dead.  It's like having a snuff scene inserted for five seconds while watching Fantasia.  It's even worst when there are sections of a story to demonstrate how much of a bitch she is.  Then it seems like an entire score in Fantasia has been replaced!

I feel sorry for the slash people.  Now, I know many of these haters are also fan girls, but not all the fan girls are these haters.  All the normal fan-girls wanna do is write the smut stories in peace.  Well, maybe not in peace, but what they do is not meant to be hateful.  What they do is not meant to really hurt anyone.  Trust when I say there is no way people are going to make money off of this.  So no, these folks believe in making love, not hate.  It's like those Middle-Americans who are ready to shoot Obama for trying to become president!  I know slash authors who prefer Sora and Riku being a couple, but don't think Kairi is a terrible person.  It's just illogical.

Maybe I'm just dramatizing how it is.  Maybe I'm making a big deal out of something that I shouldn't.  Maybe I should have the fortitude to just press back space when I spot this and calm down.  But I have done this.  I've done this too many times.  It's like watching E! when I don't want to.

Now, if you just for some reason don't like the character or maybe think Square Enix did a terrible job of developing her or maybe hated her portray in the second game, then you're good.  I'm not holding fire against you.  There are times in life where no matter how much people tell you to like someone you won't.  But there is a huge difference with disliking someone because they just may rub you the wrong way to whispering behind their back and spreading rumors on what they might have done on Prom night.

Do you understand the creators of the game made Kairi to be like a Fairy-Tale Princess?  Remembers those, those stories we grew up on?  That is what Kairi is suppose to be!   Now, if you dislike this stereotypes, again, my issue is not you.   I can understand in this day and age someone does not wanna read about the damsel in distress.  Though I do not think you people would bash her so much as make her the heroine of the story.  No, I specifically call out those who want to turn the character into something evil then something good.

I think that is what really bugs me.  Because this is the total opposite of what Tetsuya Nomura wanted.  There is no true reason to hate this character.  That is my problem.

So here is my point of this rant.  This is why I wrote thing today.  Or maybe it was because I read the straw that broke the camels back.  I was getting ready for sleep and reading for enjoyment.  In the eight chapter, what do I see in the disclaimer?  The disclaiming expressed on how if they owned the game, they would kill of Kairi.  I back spaced and I fumed.  I went to sleep and hope I would be better in the morning.

The rage still continued.

Now my sisters and my brothers, I come to my proclamations.  This unfair hating has to stop.  I want support for this so we can show this is wrong and this should not be accepted and tolerated.  I do not request sending hate mail or attack these girls for their thoughts.  No, all I request is a sign.  Just a sign.  Give me a letter, give me a reply, give me a reviews.  You do not have to make a point in it or a compelling speech.  What I want in it is simply this:

“I do not support bashing of good characters.”

This is all I want.  If you wish, send stories you find or have submit with the dear girl in a positive light.  Heck, I encourage those slash authors and the original character writers to send their stories along who do just to all characters.

Now please do not confuse this with writing a character in a bad light for the sake of a story then writing a character in a bad light for the sake of hating them.  I’ve read a few horror stories were favorites have been turned into psycho-killer and in a few hurt/comfort stories where characters are portrayed as cheaters.  Or even just humors bashing by pointing out character’s obvious flaws, then that’s fine.  I’ve laughed at stories where Kairi is constantly kidnapped.  These are fine because it is more for the sake of making something good then making someone bad.

Oh, and for you haters out there, go ahead and send your things.  But anything you send me I will post and we will see have valid it is aft wards.

And I know I haven’t been around much nor is my writing quite up to par with some of you, but I’ve been around in different fandoms for six years.  And I’ve yet to find one quite as bad as I’ve seen in Kingdom Hearts.

So remember, post even an anonymous review saying, “I do not support bashing of good characters.”  And this includes all other unfair character bashing.  This includes all.  But it appears the red-head princess gets more grief for it then all others.
