Baby's first 3D character! So atm we're in the middle of doing our first character project. I would have loved to have more tries to work with, but the constraint was that it had to be between 14k and 15k tries. Of course I had to go for 15k exactly, and I totally nailed it! Still, dem angles are looking a little sharp and of course I had to cut her wings and some detail. One day I'll redeem her and make an amazing high poly Wigilliah, ka-kaaaauh!!!

Aaand I think I grievously underestimated just how much I could have gotten away with in texture. The purpose of this character is to be used in a theoretical game (spoiler, we're not actually making a game (yet)) and you'd never see the model up close. I could have saved a bunch of tries on modelling tiny details and just made a killer normal map and hand-painted some great textures. Then again, we only had like 3-4 days to perfectly unwrap AND sculpt AND texture the whole thing, so there was legitimately no time for killer textures..... Still, it was fun to model all this, and I'm liking it (especially for a first try ever).

Another requirement was, seeing as it should be a 'game character' to solid-model the whole thing. I obviously ended up making a bunch of secondary geometry, but then I bridged it all together with a few tries on the inside of the model like a sneaky rat. Not sure if that's actually viable, lol. I did my best to avoid non-manifold garbage by making a hole in the two meshes and bridging there, if I'm explaining that right...

Also. This is actually an old version. Meant to post it a week ago, but either I was tired or I couldn't find the time I've actually tweaked the model a fair bit since, and yes indeed, textures are done as well. We're into rigging now. I'm dehydrated from crying, send help.
