This is absolutely brilliant. I have to agree with what dear Katherine said about the gorgeous metaphor that you used in the last two lines! This is truly phenomenal. With such few words you were able to paint a very colorful, vivid image!

Now, first of all, let's start with the fact that you chose an ocean as your centerpiece for a "fire" prompt, and not only did you get away with it, but you actually blew it out of the water (pun fully intended). You made that fire-ocean personal and tangible: I glanced at my skin askance because it felt like my own ocean-of-blood was on fire. And then when you pair that with the deceptively simple yet utterly perfect metaphor of waves of emotional longing...............
Suffice to say that my heart will be aching -- in the most beautiful of ways -- for the entire rest of the evening. At least.
