Quick brief - I'm in a 2 man band named "alien machine" (Check my journal if you want to listen to a sample) - and with a little bit of free time and inspiration, I hit up this one as a concept-ish idea for band artwork. Same sorta style as "growth", but a little more "WTF". Who doesn't love giant freaky eyes huh?Anywho, I dedicate this to the driving examiner who failed me this afternoon for driving at 30mph too much in 30mph zones. I hope you see this in your dreams tonight, luv.
I'll finish there, I feel bleugh.
Note - I realise this isn't even half the quality of my space/terragen themed artworks, however - don't take the image here out of context and compare it against those. I'm fed up with the "You've done better" crap. This isn't a competition, this is a learning exercise, and if I want to do something new then I'll bloody well do it. You don't have to like it, you don't even have to leave any input, but for the good of my sanity don't attempt to level me by my previous efforts. Thanks to those who know this already,

You know, I think it's great that you at least try other things. You're doing something new. That's the problem with DeviantArt, everybody sticks to their own style, they keep a narrow mind. At least you're open. I love that about you. It's freakin' awesome. It's this kind of branching out, this kind of exploration, that is what I believe separates the average artists from the greatest artists. So what if it's maybe not as impressive as your stuff with Terragen? It's still amazing in its own right. I love it. Alyn, you're fantastic. I want to give birth to your children, even though it's not really possible. You get so many comments that I really do doubt you ever get around to reading them all, but... If you do get around to reading this, just know that I really respect the way you diversify your gallery with all different styles of artwork. You don't see much of that around here.
Keep up the supreme work you've been doing. You're an amazing artist.

You've seen The X-Files movie, right? Well, you know the bit where Mulder is searching for Scully in the spaceship and you can see the aliens in the pods? This reminds me of that bit.

Don't worry about the people who say "you've done better". Doing Terregen art is totally different than this style of art. Different skills are used, and it is better to expand your art repetior. If you were going to draw a picture, would you always want to do it in crayons? If you suddenly decided to do watercolor, it takes time and patience to get good and understand the application and effects that are exclusive to each medium.

To be honest this is not really the kind of art that I am into, and I am by no means comparing it to any of your previous pieces. I think the best part of this deviation and no offence intended is the note at the bottom of the description, about the learning side of things. With that I agree whole heartedly and wish you all the best. alyn you are a talented artists and man you are damn good at what you do. I hope both the band and the new artworks come out as you want them to.

Personally I prefer this work over most of your others BECAUSE its not a space/terragen. It has a spacey feel, but its much more 'far out' or 'WTF' than your other works. Plus it looks pretty damn cool. Id put it on my wall.
I especially like how there is no real focal point, it adds a very....well....alien feel to it. I look at the picture and Im not sure what Im dealing with here, but what I do know is that whatever it is I AM dealing with, its staring back at me, and that scares the piss out of me. Summed up - You make good emotion (bashes ground with big stick)
This is awesome, and keep exzperimenting. Youve done something new and different, keep going with that!
Ps. For driving exams, drive a little bit under the speed limit, it sounds dumb but it works. It shows youre being cautious, and the tester will think youll be too scared to actually speed, and thus give you your license.

the textures looks good and images are blended nicely..cant tell what that is too but it seems cool !
