Design and Concept Sketch by my sister *Jianre-MDigital Vectors by Me
My sister needed a nice watermark to put on her images, so she sketched out this wolf design based on her furrsona, and I vectorized it in photoshop.
Now she can use this wolf icon as a smart shape to easily apply to any project she wants.
Total time: 30 min.

having the reference sketch from my sister saved me a lot of work, seeing as i didn't have to design what it looked like. Also I had a lot of practice doing vectors on my Zelda comic.

okay... well have you ever taken an image from the internet and tried to zoom in on it? It kinda looks all pixelly (big square dots). ... conversely... if you go into Word and make they type really big it still looks smooth right? No matter how big you make it!
well that's because there are two types of images... there's "Raster" images... which are like pics from google-search. They're made up of colored dots (pixels).
and then there is "Vector" shapes. Which is like Text or small pictures in Word.. that you can make any size and it never looks speckley.
This image was made into a Vector. If you don't draw I can't explain it more than that... but suffice it to say the computer is what makes it all smooth and neat.. ^_^

Yesh, true, but the thing is, I work more so with Raster images, taking original characters drawn by me that look really good and transforming them into what is known as RP characters. It's actually not hard, and I can still make it look like somebody actually drew it without help via MS Paint.

Completely understandable. ^_^ but that's just so you know the difference. (I work mostly in Raster too.... hence why I asked my brother to vectorize it for me.)

If I were to ever work in Vector, all my art would look like crap because I don't ever use Vector art. It's either Raster or pencil art.

I dunno... I think you might be surprised... It's hard to make vector art look like crap, since it's all adjusting lines and stuff. you use a single dot and change the angle and curve of lines... you don't "draw" vectors so much as change their shape manually.
What that means is that vector art tends to take longer, but generally looks alot cleaner.

cleaner with vectors... but probably not perfectly neat I suppose....
do you have any version of Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator? or have you ever used the "pen" tool in either of those programs? 'cause that's sorta what vectors are like if you have...

Yeah, maybe.
But the programs themselves are fine, it's my COMPUTER that sucks b*lls. Big time.
And at least I'm better with MS Paint and Photo Editor than I am with Movie Maker. Honestly, I tried making something contributing to art with my Movie maker, but I asked who the hell would want to see pictures of weapons that I draw with better results than pictures of people I draw that SUCK? I know I would, since I made the video, but the only other people would be weapon fanatics and (rarely) good artists.

My brother made something with movie-maker once... it took him forever! and he said the program was a royal pain, but I was very impressed with the end product considering witha the was working with.
It's often surprising what people opt to view what movies, I can't really understand how fandom works, I've tried to make sense of it but failed miserably, so I'd just say "post it" and see what happens.

oddly enough "Brigandine" has nothing to do with theives. it's a kind of leather or chainmail armor... -> [link] <-

a "d20" is a "Twenty-Sided Die" .... you do know that there are 20 sided dice right? Well either way a "d20" system is one that primarily uses the d20, (die 20-sided) ... "White Wolf" is a d10 system for the most part!
I kinda like the d20 system, the d10 systems tends to use alot MORE dice for each action. The d20 system uses different dice.... standardly with D&D you'll want a set like this:
d4, d6, d8, d10, d10-percentile, d12, and d20. ... extra d6 is usually helpful.
I've only been DM once or twice, it was always hard because back then I didn't have all the books, now I just don't have enough time...

I've heard of the million sided die, I've heard of the 20 sided die. Yeah, I get it now. And hey, I don't have all the books either, but I figure out as I go. My party(Aka, about five others)usually cracks up over little blunders I make. Like one time, during a fight with the beholder, somebody asked me "Why can't I use Tenser's Floating Disc?" And I answered "Why the HELL do you have Tenser's Floating Disk?!" and everybody burst into laughter. If you want to know why my opinion of Tenser's Floating Disk isn't too good, you should check out the site Nuklear Power: Home of the 8 Bit Theatre and go to Twinkin' out with Red Mage, where all the nerds of society(Like myself)go and ask question about making their characters stronger and way more efficient. It's really funny, and there's 40 something pages of laughter. Hey, he gives pretty good advice though. Why would you have Tenser's Floating Disc compared to Magic Missile? (I found out later the reason he couldn't use the spell was because he was in direct combat with the Beholder, so it was technically looking at him.)

Jianre-M In reply to OMGimonfireAGAIN [2008-02-18 21:44:41 +0000 UTC]
A million sided die isn't very practical.... as for the books... you mostly want the "Players Handbook", the "Dungeon Master's Guide" and a "Monsters Manual". (in that order...) The rest are supplimentary.
Heheh, A BEHOLDER eh? That's a particularly nasty Aberration to toss on your poor unsuspecting PC's.... Although I personally favor "Illithids" ... A.K.A. "Mind-Flayers"
but Beholders, while not as inteligent as Illithids are no slouch... they eat ANYTHING, their skin is as strong as steel and their eyes tough as stone. Blessed with amazing vision, even in the dark, they also float of course... they can cast numerous "spell-like abilities" with their eyes and then there's that cone of anti-magic.... and though they're not AS inteligent as Illithids, they are plenty smart enough. If you go into Beholder-Kin than things just go downhill for the PC's from there... poor poor saps....
Illithids are AWSOME though... and creepy, Drow are lotsa fun too, and just plain evil suckers... XD
I should warn you.... 8-bit theater is a cross-over between D&D and Final Fantasy.... so it's not entirely accurate to the RPG game and shouldn't be used as a reference since it exagerates alot.
Tensers floating Disc has completely different uses than Magic Missile... for one thing it's great for transporting treasure over dangerous areas where you don't want to cross yourself, it can also be used to block attacks or increase attacks if used cleverly, but it's not often used as a combat spell. you gotta figure out creative uses for your magic!
.... you DO realize that the cone of "Anti-magic" only applies when the Beholder's main eye is focused on someone right? the smaller eyes have different effects. (sometimes nastier) so unless it's looking DIRECTLY at you it's not blocking your magic, you have to be in range... but then Tenser's floating Disc is pretty darn useless against a beholder...
ANYways... sorry to yap your ear off... I've been playing D&D since 2nd Edition Advanced. I'm also a collector of the books when I can get them, and happen to possess the "Lords of Madness: Book of Aberrations" ... which is thoroughly disturbing if you want to read it. I know alot of the technical rules, though admittedly not as many off-hand as my brothers do. ^_^
3 quick questions.... What kind of dice DO you have? what edition of D&D are you playing? and what campaign (if any) are you engaging in?

OMGimonfireAGAIN In reply to Jianre-M [2008-02-18 23:13:31 +0000 UTC]
No no no, I wasn't saying I completely DESPISED Tenser's Floating Disc, I'm just saying why the hell did he have it unless he wanted to somehow fly above the Beholder and shoot Fireballs at him? I mean, it's difficult enough for him to say Czechoslovakia without having a seizure(He SUCKS at saying big words). And yeah, when I said the guy was in direct combat with the Beholder, I meant the Beholder was staring right into his soul. There was actually a funny moment where I pulled a prank on the PC's and said the reason the main wizard couldn't burn down the tower was because the Beholder inside was staring at them through a telescope in a hidden compartment. It was funny. He flipped out and bashed his skull into the wall with a book somehow.
As for the million sided die, I don't care if it's practical, I'm just saying it's technically IMPOSSIBLE to make one, but I've heard of it. If you don't get how I know, maybe you should try breaking the laws of ethics. Like me. I walk into walls, slam revolving doors and fall up stairs for a living.
But I don't use 8 Bit Theatre as a reference, I use the hand books as a better reference. If I don't fall asleep reading them, that is.
As for the three questions: I own the impossibility million sided die(Not physically, of course), a ten sided die, a twenty sided die, and I think I even have a forty sided die, but I don't know if it has forty sides or if I just keep counting wrong. I am currently running a campaign called "Kill the snot out of any enemies you see", and I think I'm in 3rd edition... And I'm a DM with a Sorcerer character who plays an NPC team leader. It's kinda' hard to bend the rules like that, but I make myself able to do so with ease.
And for the creative uses of magic, I once used Magic Missile to kill a made up enemy in my campaign(The enemy was Kool-Aid Guy With A Morning Star Spoon). Then there was the time I used a Polymorph spell on an enemy and tied an explosive to him. It was the funniest moment of my life. Well, one of them. I remember using Tenser's Floating Disk as a unique way to replace a + 5 Vorpal Sword by using it to hack off enemy heads.

He had it because he figured it might be useful! I dunno, people pick their spells and learn from their mistakes... as for the Beholder... there IS a range on their sight... like 30 feet in front and so many feet in a cone around them....
so telescope wouldn't work either...
just in case you didn't know.
actually... its technically POSSIBLE... just no one has bothered to make it yet. They can make a 10 sided, and a 100 sided Die... a 1,000,000 sided die would just be alot bigger but probably use the same basic principle.
Good, it was a bit concerning thinking anyone would take the jokes in 8-bit theater seriously...
a ten and a twenty eh? well it must be terribly difficult to play Dungeons and Dragons correctly with just that... you need to find a good dice set my freind... you want something like this -> [link] nD_Dice_Set.jpg <- As for the rest, DM's playing party characters is not unheard of or even exceptionally difficult, though I imagine being the leader of the party takes alot of the fun outta DMing the campaign. ... I don't know if I can say it properly, but here's a good take on what a DM (or in this reference a "GM") stands for -> [link] <- the quote is from a T-Shirt, one I really want to purchase someday! XD
Heh, My best campaing tributes probably shouldn't be mentioned, but suffice it to say I like to play Mischeivious characters. My most INFAMOUS adventures were probably in the "Vampire: The Requiem" campaigns. I betrayed information to both sides and came out practically worshiped as a best-freind and confidant. There was also the time I knocked a Turask silly using a "Lyre of Building". I also almost killed the rest of my party once by playing my Kender character too well... :3

well, what can you expect from me? I blunder so much that I once broke the rules about magic missile and said "Your Magic Missile saves the boy from the burning building", which got the response of "HOW?!". Heck, I even have Tenser's floating disk. I use it to chop off the heads of my fellow team me- enemies that attack us when we least expect it, yeah!
I say it used telescope for even FARTHER range! It could happen!
How can you take 8-Bit Theatre seriously when the only useful info it ever gives is the many ways to kill yourself with Ferbreeze?!
I dunno, a ten and a twenty are usually my best two dice(I put jumping beans in them somehow)because I always roll d20's and d10's on every turn I get. I would get a 30 sided die, but I don't know if it exists and I don't know where to find it. Th ten and the twenty came with the game itself when I bought it(pfft, about FIVE YEARS AGO!), but I didn't have the whole set and I couldn't just buy any old dice to cover up the fact I only had two out of the whole set!
I had a campaign once where I jinxed everybody in my team every so often so that whenever they equipped a new piece of armor, I would suddenly stop reading the DM Manual, my head would shoot up with really big eyes, and I would yell "Your Armor of (Insert next thing here)has suddenly gotten hit by molten lava and melted right off you!", or something like that, then I would look back down and continue reading while the person who just lost the armor gapes at me in horror. The campaign was called "My DM SUCKS!" campaign.
But my favorite was the campaign where I was this Elf with amazing shooting abilities (and I was also the DM, so I could do anything good to myself and everybody else could just f*ck off) and I was fighting this army of orcs who constantly attack the village I lived in and all I had was my bow and some magic and I combined Magic Missile with my arrows and wiped out a good fourth of the army(There were only twenty, so...)
Ooh! Here's something interesting! I can do fight scenarios! Here's one for you to try and answer, but it's kinda' hard, so be expecting a bit of difficulty. Here goes:
You are a normal person surrounded by ten or more armed soldiers wearing heavy armor and a vast knowledge of Martial Arts on their hands. You are armed with a stick, a ball of lead(how you lift it is your own answer), a backpack full of smoke grenades, some throwing darts, and a butter knife. You have only your street clothes and very little knowledge of Martial Arts, but you make up for it with knowledge of the dark and assassination. You are locked inside a bomb-proof room made of nearly indestructible iron and the door to the outside is locked. Right now, the soldiers have all their guns locked on you. What do you do?

.... You ... DO have the Player's Handbook....... right? ... that SHOULD specify how all of that stuff is SUPPOSED to work....
We badly need to get you to participate in a professional game, one run at a convention or something, because from what I understand you don't really have a concept of how D&D is supposed to work... If you WANT to be an evil DM, there are alot better ways to do it than randomly playing mischievious god. For instance there's an entire book on Traps and Treachery, that a particularly sadistic DM might find useful or there's the "Heroes of Horror" book that's all about a creepy campaign, but more than that... I think you'd find it useful to actually PURCHASE a Campaign Module. one that gives you a dungeon to explore and specific monsters that can be found. If you look you can find these, it might be a very good route to improve the quality of your D&D sessions.
Assuming the smoke grenades have a short time lapse before explosion, I drop one quietly to the ground, muffling the sound with my foot, kick it behind some of the soldiers in the direction of the door and let it go off providing a distraction, I drop to the floor using the stick to swipe the legs out from under the soldiers circled around me, then I dive on one shoving the "butter knife" through his eye and into his brain. I grab his gun toss half of the remaining smoke grenades onto the ground in a scattered circle, allowing the room to fill with smoke while I drop flat to the floor and shoot the rest of the guards grabbing a new gun if neccessary, then rolling across the floor hide myself behind at least one or more conviniently fallen bodies while waiting for the smoke to clear, once I have assured myself all the Soldiers are dead I search their bodies for the key unluck the door, open it just enough to scatter the remaining smoke grenades and then run out and away under the cover of it, JUST in case there were guards outside. I keep the darts and at least one full gun with an extra clip. .. Oh and the bloodied butter knife.
Now that THAT is done, I might want to mention I like to play theives...

Well, you got the grenade part down. They have short time before discharge and long lasting smoke to cover your hide. But, instead of going all out commando, I would be sneaky(like thief mentioned below)and throw all smoke grenades(about twenty of them, to be exact)on the ground, and once they've all gone off, if the guards haven't begun randomly shooting each other yet, I'll go behind one, grab his head, and crack his neck. THEN I'll steal his gun, unload the ammo out of it to provide a way to get out of the building, and I'll run behind another guard while the smoke is still up, step on his back, and ram the butt of the gun into his neck two times to get him out of the way. Then, I'll take his spare ammo and load both guns, then shoot them both at the remainder of the guards. Any survivors get beat down with the stick, or stabbed repeatedly with the butter knife. Now for the door. Since not all of them are dead or knocked out, just a bit dazed, and the smoke is rapidly clearing, on has to work fast. So, I'll take my sholace out of my shoe, tie the live ammo to the door on either side of the doorknob, then step back, take careful aim at the door, then shoot. Provided the shockwave that usually comes from a bullet will be enough to ignite the live ammo and cause it to explode, the door should be open, and the conveniently placed MOTORCYCLE should be ready for use. So, I'll speed off and let the law take it from there. This was emailed to me by a friend of mine who like giving me battle scenarios to work with. And they get harder every day. You might have noticed I never mentioned the darts. Well, those were used to start the bike.
As for the evil DM thing, it's FUN to be evil without exerting to much evilness! Your party never knows what hits them! So, basically, the quality of the campaigns is fine, as it is. I don't own the player's handbook because the books weren't mine, they were my dads. All he has is the DM handbook, which I'm reading right now. Plus, I'm way to lazy to go to the lengths to buy more books unless I REALLY feel like reading(which is why I have such a large vocabulary and how I can speak foreign languages with relative ease). As for the class, I like magic users better.

Ah, but you see... there are flaws in your plan! ... any trained Soldier would start shooting YOU if they saw anything funny, and while it might be possible to get one smoke grenade out, rolling more would be risky. Also they know more Martial Arts than you, and so grabbing their gun would probably end up with YOU getting beaten up. Anyone who knows how to use a gun to fire can hit you with it. Lastly... Ammo clips are not that explosive. Not NEARLY explosive enough for that. A couple little pops is about all you'll get, it'd be like fire-works, not like a bomb. The ends of a dart are not flexible enough to pick an ignition with.... and a motorcycle is easy to track.
You can't really play proper D&D without the Players handbook... surprising as that may seem it's way more important than the DM's guide, I think you'll be very surprised if you read it. Magic users take alot of time, and low-level they just aren't as useful, now if you want to be REALLY nasty try a Psion. Take a Dragon down with one or two hits.

No no no, you forgot I had the butter knife. So grabbing his gun would be cake. And when I said placing ammo on either side of the door, I meant like twelve or so packs of it that I stole from the fallen guards. And in this case, the darts worked fine because the bike had a strange ignition slot. And I could use the dead guard as a meat shield if they began shooting at me. Did you think I hadn't thought this out? It's like a game of Splinter Cell, the enemies aren't bright enough to figure this kind of stuff out. Same goes for the bike, if they can track it, they'll have to figure out if I left TRACKS or not. I never said they had tracking devices. Just think of yourself as Sam Fisher and remember this: What would HE do?
OR better yet: What would Brian Boitano do?(I can't spell his name right, sorry)
Psions? I HAD a Psion once. Needless to say, he... had an accident, and woke up with half his body missing after a fight with an orc who had a really well thought out plan for some reason. In that case, I was NOT DM.
