I know how you feel ;( 2 times I had that happen, the first time it was a very special dog that I was very close to died and a couple days later my grandpa died and then just a year ago I had 3 deaths right in a row 2 of them were teachers that I had had the year before and I had loved dearly and the next was a cousin...who'd shot himself and I still haven't gotten over them.

Ah well I love that song and it always makes me feel better and
it does fit that very well.
Yea it gets rough at times I'm much more mature than many because of
what I've been through...I barely remember actually acting like a kid but I do remember
not having anyone to talk to and how much it hurt, since then I've always tried to be comforting even to people I don't know.
Thank you though, as I am sorry for your losses.

Thankfully I have Lulu's (now three year old) filly to play with. I'm starting to ride her and I see so much of her mother in her.

It was hard, but at least I have good memories of them. I'm having a commission done of them and I'm excited to see what it's going to look like.

The Yellow Dun gelding (CB) colic(ed?) while I was at play practice and fell into a creek while it was raining. I was notified by my vet (who keeps my horses) that CB had to be pulled out with a tractor... almost drowned cause only his nose was really out of the water. I left practice and rushed over... we sat in the rain with him for about ten hours waiting to see if he could stand enough to be pulled onto the trailer. He could never get up. I finally told the vet to put him down cause... felt like CB told me he was ready to go.
Just two weeks later, the sorrel mare (Louise) was stalled next to a stallion and got into a fight with him through the bars (this is common for the mares, but they usually get over it soon and ignore him)... don't know exactly what happened to her, but when I came to ride her the next morning she was lying on the ground and unable to get up. I sat with her for over 24 hours with an iv bag trying to get her enough strength to stand, but her condition was going down fast so I told the vet to put her down as well.
It was a hard summer, but it has made me stronger and I still love those guys.
I only have Louise's filly (almost 3 years old) and she is very special to me so I'm praying nothing happens to her for a long time at least.
