Description
Though its submission was heavily delayed by my recent troubles and lack of time, here is my pencils tutorial describing how to achieve a more bolder and "graphic" look with characters.This tutorial was made using Prismacolor/Karisma pencils, which are a high quality brand, but the methods described can be used with most brands of decent pencils, so if all you have is a beginner's set of Crayolas, you should still be able to follow it. ^_~
I want to cover a softer, more classic pencil look, and colouring a picture with a limited number of pencils, at a later date.
This tutorial features a human character (Miguel, our heavily ad-libbed version of The Fear from Metal Gear Solid 3) and a furrie/anthro character (the almighty Sheeva). So even though it's brief and shows a small image, at least it does a bit of both. XD
Thanks for all the support and nice feedback on my tutorials so far!

I was coloring a picture while reading this, but I have completely terrible at shading and lightness .3.;;
So when it got to that part, and didn't explain I was lost o3o
I tried looking for it in your others, but I didn't quite understand it, maybe I missed it?
I tried doing it myself, but ended up ultimately ruining the picture XD;; So I have to go over the light spots now so it can match the dark spots XD;;
I was wondering if you could elaborate how to do lightspots and shading <:3

I'm gonna give this a shot, too. :3
Your tutorials are so helpful Amy, it's great that you take the time to scan each step. It must really be a pain. xD;;;

Okay - why it never occurred to me to re-ink pencil coloured drawings is absolutely beyond me This is great though, like all the other tutorials it's really inspiring and I can definitely use this one to my advantage.
Now I actually need to stop being the world's most massive procrastinator...

Lol, I don't always re-ink lines when I'm done with pencils (like I didn't in my mixed media tutorial), because sometimes I think the slight fading of the black looks nice. But re-doing the lines makes the picture look super graphic, so I guess it depends on your tastes and the type of picture you're doing.
Thank you for the compliment, if you get any good out of this tutorial I hope you'll be kind and show me what you doooo....

This is really nice! I am a fan of your art style and I think your tutorials are great! I like the technic you use on the coloring and the shading, good choice of pencils! Prismacolors are an awesome choice!
