NOOOT!!!

Just a shout - out for my fellow creative peeps who may have experienced these:

When you were under 7 years old:

1. Your mum (or whoever...) teaches you how to write and you should hold the pencil on your right hand but always ending writing on your left cause you thought it was your right hand?

2. When your kinder teacher asks you to draw shapes, all you did was squiggles? (your crescent just look like a G.I. has melted...)

3. Or your parents spend an astounding amount of money just to hire people to tutor you... only those stupid tutors remark you "un-teachable?"

4. You have difficulty counting? Well, maybe you can count but while your saying  "1-2-3" inside is "straight, curve, half-snowman"?

5. You often cry every school morning 'cause you don't know why you should wake up that time?

6. When asked what time it is, you can only tell your fave cartoon's sched but not the current time?

7. Your companions just advanced a little and you don't know where the heck they went?

8. Fear of playing sports or inability to play simple jackstone?

9. Fear of handling money, any amount of money?

They say if you try hard enough you'll get it... but what if you just DON'T GET IT?

When you were young, its such a gift to learn how to count... a simple show off to other family members. I don't remember doing a count-down in front of visitors... I could just remember being up late until 10pm just studying simple 1+1, or tied up in a chair just to make you understand what curves are...

A kid goes home waiving his math test paper with a big smiling star, but all I can show is a paper with a sad face and a ink  saying "IMPROVE"! Followed by a teacher's memo...

These 1+1 for kids is such a little effort just to hear its teacher say "Very good"... but I got 2 tutors and both are already raising their voices 'cause we've been counting for hours and I still don't get it...

Games when we were young are just entertainment, a way of gaining friends... but all I can is run, so I was left out until no one would dare to play with me...

I got my scholarship failing the arithmetic and spatial test... but since my history and science were almost perfect I made the quota... Four years after, I took the same aptitude test then I failed math... remarked me as a shame to the department because of my incapability...

Extensions in Math class hours were caused of me... I remember a girl blatantly told me that I should shut my mouth or we won't get home... (unfortunately, that girl got pregnant before finishing college... hohoho!!!) I quit my Scouting Training not because I was good enough but I wasn't able to distinguish left from right when given a command... The cycle continued until I turned 15, felt this is terribly wrong...

I went to college, got into a relationship, but it was a drag when we're going on a date and ending up getting lost in a mall were everyday I went to... My ex would give me simple directions how to get to a place but still can't find the place even if it was situated in a very familiar location...

I applied for work, I've gone circles for hours 'cause I can't locate the building I was going to... I can't wake up on the right time 'cause I can't tell what time it is until I turn on the TV (or just remember the show...) I acquired 2 lates in just a few days of working... The H.R. personnel warned me about my tardiness... (Oh, GOD! I hope this won't affect my evaluation...)

One more bummer is when I sign off a design layout I always write the wrong date... I was too shy to ask what date it is...

Honestly, I was suicidal when I was 7 because of my learning disability... but I'm glad the depression part was over... ('cause I later realized how stupid it is to take your own life... hohoho!!!)

THERE IS A CONDITION FOR SUCH, A LEARNING DISABILITY IN PAR WITH DYSLEXIA (difficulty with words...) sadly, it is not yet recognized in my country...

IT'S DYSCALCULIA ---> It's like dyslexia but it involves numbers, sense of time and direction. A recent finding by WHO... most prevalent to artists and writers. The person (as an adult) may be able to count or tell time but still compelled what is the relationship between 2 logics... When I told my mum about this... she confessed they were having difficulties teaching me math, even took extreme measures such as cutting off TV etc... but still fail exams.

Causes are still inconclusive but you can find info's by typing it on google... You may have the symptoms too...

Until now... I don't have an organizer to arrange my activities... So the next time you look at the clock.... FEEL BLESSED!
