My first submission of 2013!!
As I said in my journal; I want to challenge myself this year, and this is the first piece to start that tradition.
The main protagonist from the Mass Effect series: Commander Shepard. (The female one of course)
The armor and pose are heavily referenced off of the promotional shots for ME3, which I believe is quite clear to see.
But that's what you get when painting new things... you need references. But I just HAD to make her look like my personal femshep.

Me too! But I guess I would feel sorry for the animators as well. Plus, not really practical for all the fighting and running around...
I am trying to finish another piece in time for N7 day, but I am afraid I might be late. Though, there is more ME coming for sure!

Its a render though, not artwork, so I can't say I've worked as hard as you did... it was hard though, just not that hard in comparison I guess...

I will go and have a look, for sure and leave my thoughts.
As for hard work: 2D and 3D are different ways to get results. I can make a spiky ball in C4D and a nautilus shell in Bryce.... not fully render something in 3DSmax. I would not even know which buttons to push to get anything to work xD At the end of the day hard work is about effort, and I know 3D work can take as much effort as any 2D does. I do not know how much time you spent on your render, so it is not for me to judge, but I reckon we used similar amounts of time, therefor similar amounts of effort.

Hello there! Been a while since I bugged you about posting artwork - I once shared a Miranda piece by you on Mass Effect Miranda Lawson - fanpage I admin on Facebook. I'm back again, except this time I'd like to post this one, and post it on Mass Effect Female Shepard. She's a pretty awesome femshep, this one you've done. Granted long-flowing hair probably *not* being the practical out-to-do-business style she'd be wearing but perhaps she's just finished causing mayhem out on the battlefield, and is 'letting her hair down', actually letting her hair down, lol. The lighting on the armour looks very realistic, and you did a great job with the moon too. The smudging for the emission of light from the omnitool: also works really well.
Anyway, I remember you were happy for me to share your Miranda picture so long as credit is given to you in the caption and a link back to your original is provided. I'd do the same with this one, just so you know. Great work regardless!

Yes, the armor was a pain in the a** quite a few times and this painting took me a dear sweet amount of time! But it was totally worth it in the end!!
