Very cool! I love the intense atmosphere created by lighting and movement of this piece! It's very strong and very good.
My only complaint is the figure on the giant's shoulder-- he's very static in this action-packed painting! it doesn't look like his feet actually connect to the shoulder (no shadows on the giant's armor) so I can't tell if he supposed to be floating or if he's on the giant's shoulder. He's also got no movement to his gesture and form what-so-ever, which takes away from the over all feel of the piece and is distracting. For me, it seems like he needs to be balancing himself on the shoulder-piece, bending at his knees and hips to be able to adjust his balance no matter how the giant moves. And his arm that's straight out- is it supposed to leaning against the giants' head armor (which could move at any moment and take away his support)? or is that guy the war general and directing the army? He just is too much 'on the fence' (meaning his role in this picture could go in a couple different ways and it needs to be clearer what he is doing- from the floating/standing to the arm-support/directing the troops thing).
That guy is the only thing I am bugged by in this piece, but it is a WONDERFUL piece! It is beautiful and epic and makes me want to check out the game. I know you didn't ask for a critique... but i wanted to mention that so this could be improved, especially if it's for a contest.

Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time for the cool critique! Yes you are totally right, I feel uncomfortable with this guy standing on the giant shoulder... I guess it was a big scene and I missed it! It's kind of "observing statically" not the right pose for this big fight :s
About the contest finished months ago, and was great, a lot of outstanding art!

Very good robot, it catches the essence of JRPGs and anime in general, the movement blur and the shading and lights are also very well done, I wish i could do it that great. Keep up the good work, your art is amazing indeed

AH awesome! I love the terracotta roofs for the samurai armor, like the creature slapped on pieces of houses, really cool idea. Reminds me of a Feudal Japanese Brumak (from Gears of War) Not sure if it's from the game or not, but even if it was, the execution is top notch.
