I figured this one out on my own awhile ago but I am glad someone took the time to help those who are not quite as puter savvy. Awesome job too. Very easy to understand and not too long-winded

AndreiPavel In reply to allwaysjudee [2007-10-25 10:29:07 +0000 UTC]

i choosed the hard way. it's easier to rename the .bak file but on laptops it seems it doesn't work. so i did this

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

allwaysjudee In reply to AndreiPavel [2007-10-25 10:34:40 +0000 UTC]

As long as it works, that's good for me! Actually, I like going into the files and seeing what I am doing.

Would it not be quicker just to rename the x.bak to x.flame?

👍: 0 ⏩: 3

AndreiPavel In reply to baba49 [2007-10-22 04:04:00 +0000 UTC]

good point!

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

AndreiPavel In reply to baba49 [2007-10-22 03:56:40 +0000 UTC]

it's the first thing i tried this but my pc is seing it as .bak file [and no, couldn't just rename it. it may work to other pc though]. that's why i had to do it this way

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

baba49 In reply to AndreiPavel [2007-10-22 08:31:45 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps the attribute "Write protection" is enabled under property.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

ThePieProphet In reply to baba49 [2007-10-22 01:25:16 +0000 UTC]

What you do is Select all then copy, open a new notepad window, paste it there, then rename to .flame
renaming the .bak itself deletes your backup file

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

baba49 In reply to ThePieProphet [2007-10-22 08:34:51 +0000 UTC]

But if you open the flame and close it you'll get a new bak anyway

O.O This is awesome! Tis a shame most of my old, lost fractals were made before 2.06 and don't have a .bak file but ah, its in the past, and I think they're on my mom's computer :3 and thanks for linking to me

AndreiPavel In reply to KainApophysis [2007-10-20 16:13:14 +0000 UTC]

most welcome! i'm watching :iconKainApophysis : so... how could i skip it?
i think it's very usefull. if it happened to me.. could happend to anyone. i had to find a solution. i could not leave it like this and loose 50 images. they were just new stuff that i tried in 3D Hack which is all a bubble stuff that i can't get used to. i like more 2.06c. it's less digital somehow
