Another FAILED watercolor attempt.
Remind me to scan drawing in first... THEN color it.
Watercolor killed all my pencil details.
Mediums: brown color pencil, watercolor, and acrylic paint.

That usually happens when scanning takes place...but considering how amazing it is now, I can't imagine how it would look WITH the detail

I feel the exact same. It does take a while to get used to them but once you do, your artwork will look awesome.

Why is this fail? I think it's good. Have you ever tried making copies of your sketch and painting on the copy?

It's fail because it's not how I imagined it XD
I have thought about it, but printing paper doesn't have the same quality as art paper. And I can't really print on thick watercolor paper without tearing up my printer.

What about investing in a lightbox or using carbon paper? I just think anything to keep the original is better than scanning it in. I just don't like the way scanners pick up pencil.

I think watercolor looks good when it's a little fuzzy. I like the slightly antique look here.
