The Perfect SG – Imagine if you can the SG that’s been deigned not to have that annoying neck dip. From the weight, proportion and placement of the chosen tonewoods to the subtle changes in appearance I’ve wracked my brain on this design for over 6 months. I probably won’t have it perfected until long after I’ve gotten the tools to build it and then have actually have built it, but as it is I probably wont get the tools for a few more years. On top of that, there’s a chorus pedal built right into it! Woo! Mock up coming soon.Paduak neck through construction with extra thick (like a Telecaster) Bubinga wings and a Wenge fretboard.

Looks really nice. I've never played an SG and didn't realize they were known for "annoying neck dip." If I know what you mean... I really hate that! I have a small hollowbody where the head swings down if you let go. Really annoying. I'm gonna fill it with beanbags or something.
I am currently planning to wire up an HSH strat. I love the look of Gibsons but find the strat scale length way more comfortable for playing. I like the Stetsbar idea, but haven't tried one.
My favourite add-on part I've used (about to put on in 4th guitar) is the Shadow Killpot. It's a volume or tone knob that works as a killswitch when pressed in. On the strat I'm modding now, I was going to use push-pull pots for the tone knobs but found one seller on eBay selling push-push pots. They're more expensive and not as easy to find but I think it will be nicer to use.
Cool to find stuff like this on DA. I'm new here but actually just found your pic on Google, searching for cool HSH guitar pics.

Most excellent stuff man. Thanks a ton for the fav and the watch. I'm stoked you enjoy it!
I've heard of people putting lead fishing line weights in the control cavities of their SGs but the beanbags might be safer for a hollowbody.
I have a Tele which is the same scale as a Strat and I find bending notes easier and more comfortable on the shorter Gibson scale but I totally get where you're coming from. The longer scale has a nice, crisp tone to it. Everybody's hands and ears are different so to each their own.
Push-push sounds much easier for live stuff where you need to switch things mid song. Go for it.

I'll let you know what I think of the push-push pots when I have them installed (...though I'm not exactly going to be stage-testing them just yet.) I'm a little worried that they'll be likely to wear out before the push-pulls would. I'm guessing it's the same thing basically but there must be a spring mechanism or something I'd think is a little more technical/breakable than the push-pull would be.
I know some good suppliers of cheap parts and have wholesale accounts with some major music companies, but none had push-push pots. They cost me $20 each (after shipping) on eBay and I could only find them from the one seller, so I'm worried they're not as popular because they're glitchy or something.

I was actually just joking bout the beanbag idea, but after making the joke started thinking something like that's not bad. I just came up with it while writing that to you. People in guitar forums have suggested something like those strap-on ankle weights for exercise wrapped around the butt-end of the guitar strap.
I guess it's a tough one because I'd worry that anything heavy enough would be dangerous to the wood and electronics if it were to bang around inside the body.
That's an interesting idea about the weights in the SG control cavity. I think I'll try a helium balloon in my Les Paul's control cavity! lol
