My depiction of what MMPR Season 2 might have looked like had they used more Dairanger, but kept it similar to what was already a hit.DeviantART, I give you, the Thunder Morphin' Power Rangers!
I thought that it'd be cooler and an easier transition if the ShishiRanger costume was made black
(can be done with American footage). And since it'd be American footage, why not give the yellow
ranger a skirt.
I picture this beginning around when Tommy first gets the White Ranger powers (which was when they started using more original footage than Japanese for the ground fight scenes)
Plus, I imagine this kind of season with a modified theme:

Perhaps. The show ended up using less and less Sentai footage as time went on anyway, at least until the Alien Rangers miniseries and the switch to Zeo. I think they could’ve accomplished a simpler effect by rescultping the helmets to match the new animals.

Here's my idea for the Super Sentai exclusive Rangers: they are prototypes that never got passed beta when they were field tested. When the Mega Rangers morphed into them, they could have been part of a Prototype Ranger Mode. Dairanger would have been Prototype Ranger Mode #17. Later in the Legendary Battle, Gosei could have sent in drones (sort of like the robot Turbo Rangers) using the Prototype Ranger powers.

I guess but if you go by what the show used, when they had the Alien Rangers it was "Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers". So the way I said it seems like it would fit more. But then that would make the next ones after thunder the Mighty Morphin Ninja Rangers. Which just sounds weird.

You got a little point there. But I perceive that as being due to the Alien Rangers not being "THE" Power Rangers. Besides, "Alien Morphin'" would likely sound weird.
By the way, I still have an unfinished picture depicting the Kakuranger suits as "Ninja Morphin' Power Rangers" (it will have another idea for the Aquitian Rangers, just waiting until I get it done).

Apparently, they've tried more than once to fit the Dairanger suits somewhere. Megaforce is the one to finally do it: Legendary Ranger Modes based on non-PR sentai series are simply teams that haven't been encountered yet (Dairanger explicitly being from another planet.) I thought that was cool at first: they'd finally fit Dairanger in somewhere and made them official Power Rangers! But then they went on to show us more of past sentai than actual Rangers.
I had a big idea for where the Dairangers could fit, back during Ninja Storm. I thought we could maybe see some of the other ninja academies, since we know that Wind and Thunder are not the only ones. The Dairangers would be from the Flame Ninja Academy, with the call "Fire storm, Ranger form!" The Flowery Kunoichi Gang, Ranger-like villains from Kakuranger, would be the rangers of the all-girls Flower Ninja Academy (Petal storm, Ranger form," maybe?), and the Shadow Jetmen from Jetman as the Shadow Ninja Academy (not evil, they'd just feel that the fact that ninjas are supposed to be pretty much the opposite of loud, visible, and destructive is something that those other teams forget. Their primary color is black to represent stealth and silence. They take pride in the fact that they've operated so long with even other ninja teams not knowing they exist, and they're the only ones to be fully operational instead of just a few remnants like the others: they weren't attacked because Lothor didn't know about them. Their call would be "Stealth and storm, Ranger form!"
I know they'd never actually do anything like that, but it's fun to think about.

Believe me, anything would work better than that Stuper MegaHoarse garbage we got. Pffft, "Legendary Ranger Mode", More like "Peasantary Stager Mode".
Just a few things I'd do to change it a bit, make it more fitting. First off, to help, a call for the Flower Ninja Academy. How about "Sakura storm, Ranger form!"? Also, the part with the Dairangers. How about, instead of the Flame Academy, they could be from the Star Ninja Academy, or the Stellar Ninja Academy? I think that could attune more to the fact that they get their powers from mystical stars in the Sentai show. And maybe their call could be "Stellar storm, Ranger form!". And the Shadow one, that's an interesting idea too. Just shadow, not darkness. And that's a really cool call you gave them.
Very creative anyway.

I kind of still like the usage of the Zyuranger suits for MMPR Season 2 and 3, though I've felt for a while now that the Dairanger suits might have been a good fit for Zedd's Dark Rangers (more so than recolored Putty costumes).

Yeah, I know what you mean, with both of those. But this was just meant to depict the season's team's counterparts.
Y'know something, I actually have a WIP picture of what-if Dark Rangers, using Sentai costumes. It's not the Dairanger suits, it's a different Sentai. It isn't done yet, honestly not sure when it'll be done (been lazy with my pieces). But I hope to get more like this one done soon.

Well, when I get around to it, you're gonna see a pic that depicts the ninja season that happens after this one. Probably won't be for awhile though. Been trying to break free, think about other stuff.
