Description Long time, no submissions...

This is actually a remake of an one of my old pieces. You can probably guess which one. I remade it, because liked the sci-fi theme, but the designs weren't strong enough.

This one i'm a lot prouder of, plus, i totally drew guns. Not just crappy guns without any thought. REAL GUNS! I'm also really enjoying painting skin at the minute.

I wanted to focus on creating something a bit more "Mass Effect" whist keeping them both uniform. They are part of a deep space clan of assassins, called The Atrium.

The guy is called Sparrow, he's a sassy expert sniper, with an unusual love/obsession for his rifles. The rifle he's holding is called Ghost.

The girl is Wag Tail, she is of an alien humanoid amphibian race. Her specialty is small arms and hand to hand combat, she's very stern, and prefers to get a job done quickly and efficiently.

i love the cat suits but im not sure it works quite so well on the male. the first thing i did when i saw these was imagine what they would look like in real life and i have a feeling the male suit would give me a tad too much information. I love the overall design of the suits tho - especially the cropped jacket and the gloves. I also really like how the suits are obviously affiliated with the same organization, but personalized. I've been scrolling through submissions to ConceptWorld for half an hour now and yours is the first one I've seen that's intrigued me enough to make me want to stop and leave a comment.

Haha, you gotta let the ladies have some eye candy too! My main goal was to have uniforms that matched but were customised to each character for their needs, since the guy is a sniper he had no need for heavy armour so I dressed him in a suit that offers easy movement. Thanks so much for the lovely compliments, you've made my day!

Hi, I really like your style, you would be interested in participating in the contest for the realization of the cover of my sci-fi literary magazine?

haha thanks emma! your far too kind. I really want to do more like these, I think one of the things about improving is your last piece is never good enough, I have no idea how I'm going to get anything done!

Lol try and think about it in terms of, "Every picture you draw is an improvement." Keep drawing, don't give up! I've drawn some really bad pics lately, but it's good to get them out the way. It's hard when you see great artwork and you compare it to your own, but it's important just to keep going and being inspired.

Thats why I love the Portal 2 fandom so much (oh god here she goes lol) Everyone has a different style and version of the characters, and nobody cares about ability too much, its just about having fun haha!

Also, someone said something to me the other day. Draw what you like. Don't deprive yourself too much. Don't worry abut what other people think. If you want to draw something, do it, and use that to learn more.

Sorry long essay.

Kinda random but I love how you made the male version of the uniform skintight and light, as is wont in a stealthy killer. (I'm juuuust a little tired of seeing costume designs where the female version always seems to have 50% less coverage than the male one for no practical reason. Unless getting ogled at is somehow a requirement for stealth missions...) ŠP

haha I agree, I actually covered a very similar subject in my dissertation, sadly it's done to appeal to the male video game demographic. Though times are changing and video games aren't just for boys anymore. However we still face the problem that a majority of games based concept artists are male, and I doubt they would be comfortable drawing sexy men. sigh.

Honestly? 9 out of 10 of my female friends are bigger hardcore gamers than me. Times are indeed changing, though I get the sense that they, and many other gamers, have internalized this double standard as simply "the way it is".

It's become a lot like the movie industry: as the economy continues to stink, the people at top willingly sacrifice creativity for the tired, lowest denominator. That and they're just willfully ignorant, even in good times. ŠP

Thank yooooooooooou!

YES! they are inspired by the style of mass effect, but not actually from there. They are my own. I really Sparrow, and the concept of The Atrium, I think it may be something that I want to develop further, though I don't know in which medium. Webcomic, book, animated short... it's all too confusing.
