Was there even a shark to jump to begin with? Last I checked, Β a cyborg ninja before dying, inflicted great Β damage to a robot that had nuclear capabilities.Β

BTW, "Jumping The Shark" is one of the names
of Metal Gear Rising's achievements/trophies!

This was drawn December 16th, 2011, long before we had the actual game to play.
Anyway, even if it's artificial blood for androids, it's still technically "blood".

I was joking; it was from part 1 of TheSw1tcher's playthrough of Revengeance.
If I was serious, I would have looked up the actual term instead of saying "cyborg juice".

Sorry, I didn't realize this was a reference. It seems like the kind of argument the game would actually make, considering the cyborg enemies double as a way for Konami to skirt human-dismemberment (and this make the game acceptable for the Japanese market).

This shows how the modern Metal Gear fan has no understanding of the franchise. I bet you think it's okay for Big Boss to be the hero too.

Metalgear jumped the shark with the first game, and kept hoping back and forth over that same shark again and again.

Just because they are doing an action spin-off does not mean they will abandon the main series, I'm sure they will still continue the MGS series. With swords being higher on my priorities in videogames than guns are, I look forward to it.

There was never a shark to jump over. Kojima dived into the ocean, found the shark and killed it. Then he made Metal Gear.
There was never a shark, there was only Kojima playing jump-rope. And IT. IS. AWESOME.

Hell, the MGS series started off with the shark already jumped.

You people were told Metal Gear Rising was gonna be action and have Raiden as the main lead YEARS BEFORE the new gameplay trailer. What are you people complaining about if you were already giving a good full warning?

Metal Gear can do whatever the hell it wants.
Cause quite frankly this Trailer made me Fangasm all over the place.

Metal Gear Rising was specifically made to appeal to the female audience [It's all Raiden's fault.]
Still getting it. It hasn't gone far enough.

Get out of here ya fag, we all know Raiden as a character was made for Kojima to fap too when he's alone in the office.

Yes, you just saw that. And let me tell you something, this is before he got upgraded later in the game. Β Care to retract your statement now?

No. I never said he was bad or uncool, I just said Kojima obviously jerks it to him. You know it's true, turbovirgin.

Well I have heard that people are comparing the new version of this game to devil may cry in terms of gaming, while for me it's in terms of characterization.

MGS fans get a spin-off title with over the top action, amazing cinematics and character design, and even if they don't like it, they can still wait for a confirmed sequel of the MGS series.
DMC fans get a fangame running in a slower engine, bad character design, a plot that has been re-used to death, and the game devs laugh at them every chance they get.

they fixed it in the new captivate trailer. THANK GOD. His hair is fixed, they sped the action up, He doesnt look like a crackhead, He cracks a joke in the trailer, and the soundtrack is a mix of underground rock and industrial electronica

Jin-Kurazama In reply to QwertyNinja493 [2012-05-16 04:05:19 +0000 UTC]
No, they are still using a 30 fps engine, to prevent it from lagging, they will only allow 3-5 enemies in the screen at the same time (while in DMC4 you could get up to 10), and the trailer was a poor attempt from Ninja Theory at being edgy by parodying FOX News. They did fix his looks a bit, but that doesn't make it worth buying for me, not after calling the DMC fans "lambs" and then acting like they are the victims. I'm done with CAPCOM, every franchise they had they have already either killed it or filled it up with DLC.

& this game could kickass ...as a God of War ...as a MGS let's wait to see

The quality of a simple minded script is that it can be shaped into anything at will...
Just ask Gray fox, the first Konami's bad ass cyborg ninja and he will answer :
More I WANT MOOOOOOO~RE!
Well, he did ended up as a stain on the floor...
As for the "Revengeance" title... I'd say "Welcome to the modern world. Words are meaningless now. Action aren't. That is why the world stopped spinning as it became meaningless."
XD
By the way, I love the reference to Austin Power... Laser Sharks for the way! (Even if it wasn't intended!)
