  • No, my spelling is not that bad. It is from the original letter that was sent to the police.

The blood and cut is makeup, no brushes.

I really like this Ripper series! Call me morbid, but I find it rather impressive how he was never caught.
The shots themselves are fantastically executed. This one is my second favourite, I think.
I shall leave a comment and fav my actual favourite after this.

Very, very nice. The blood is realistic, the expression are perfect. And the model looks so dead and doll like... I love it!
The only complaint is the lighting. I feel it is too bright for such a dark mood. On the other hand, however, this lighting further brings out the pale skin of the victim and helps it contrast with the blood and dark clothing Jack is wearing.

The makeup is wonderful and very realistic.
I do enjoy that the model portraying Jack has glasses- makes him seem more... I don't know, more like a serial killer, I suppose.
    Wonderful!

While it doesn't make sense to me that you're styling this a recreation of a Ripper murder when it's almost completely lacking in accurate historical detail, I appreciate the shot itself. It's well crafted and obviously well thought out (though the nose ring definitely stood out and detracted from the piece). Your take on the Ripper himself was quite interesting and whatever was done to the 'victim's' eyes to give them that glazed shine was a worthy addition. The blood was much more realistic than I expected and the 'Ripper' did well with the intensity of his expression. I was impressed but overall I was also slightly DEpressed to see such horrendous events so downplayed and lacking in horror. That may just be me. Also, I felt that the lighting, as if from a window, took away from the dark mood. Again, MHO.
Thanks for sharing it with us!

Thanks. I appreciate your critique. It was well worded and insightful. You are right on it not being historically accurate. We weren't looking for perfection. Just the emotion that the photo would portray. he blood is not photoshopped, but the eyes are a touch to give that nice and dead look. This one is not my favourite of the series, but it is a fun one. I'm glad you liked it.

    Thanks for your comments.

I love how you always add a "Dear Boss" letter. I've done WAY too much research on Jack the Ripper than is good for me, but hell! it's an awesome topic!!!

I've looked through this series and I believe that this one is my favourite.

The atmosphere, the expression on the models' faces, the realistic blood and makeup... it all flows together nicely. Great work. : )

I cant imagine how difficult it would to be to recreate the original horror of how involved his disfigurement ranged. I study into serial killer psychology, and granted he was not the first he has seemingly remained one of the worst, nice work.
