In March 1980, a 4.2 earthquake led to venting on Mount St. Helens seven days later. In the time that followed, the dormant volcano - that was seen by so many as beautiful - would unleash one of the worst eruptions America had ever seen.
It's true cause, however, lay with an event that happened hundreds of years before.

In the far reaches of our galaxy, a gathering of extraterrestrial explorers were searching for a fabled treasure know as 'The Giver of Life', a small but near-indestructable crystalline entity said to hold the power to create both Life and pure DNA, which in turn could cause the restoration or indeed destruction of entire species.
For the explorers, many of whom were scientists, the Giver of Life could revolutionize their sciences, including from learning about extinct or endangered lifeforms that could be restored by the treasure's power and even from learning how creatures truly evolve.
Unfortunatley for the explorers, their successful find was not without its downsides - word slipped out about the find, which quickly escalated into full blown war with hundreds of other species, all of whom wanted the power of the treasure to advance their species and become the ultimate life form, as well as destroying all their enemies.
The Giver of Life, however, had other ideas. It was not just simply a tool to be used by anyone, but an eternal and living creature that had its own thoughts on how its immense powers should be used. Turning against the warring peoples, it reduced all of them to near extinction before drifting through space and into a wormhole.

Floating through this passageway in space, the entity came out in the solar system and floated towards Earth, with its year currently been 1480. Falling through the atmosphere over North America. Almost as if by coincidence, the landing point of the Giver of Life was right within Mount St. Helens during its Kalama eruptive period. Within the volcano, the giver of life would begin to change, creating a life form around itself from the raw materials of the Earth. It wasn't until 1980 that the creature the Giver of life had created would break free of its rocky prison, causing the earthquakes and eruption that would flatten every tree in miles and kill over 50 people.
The monster would be named by the classification centre at Earth-United, given the name 'Pyroclastic' (short for Pyroclastic Surge/Flow, and fitting as it was in this way that the creature travelled across the land following its intial breakout - [link] , [link] ).
Pyroclastic has complete power over volanoes, landslides and earthquakes as well as all their aspects such as lava, magma, ash, etc. among control over elemental forces
Thanks to the Giver of Life contained within his body, he is immortal and incredibly strong, never running out of energy. He is also able to change his body from solid to liquid to gas in an instant, easily overcoming many obstacles and been able to quickly evolve to deal with whatever comes his way. Strong and adaptable and having already proved his worth following the events at Mount St. Helens, Pyroclastic has the potentially to become a great weapon for Majestic or whatever Evil forces find him. However, his psychic connection to Earth following his 'birth' could make him an ally to Earth-United and a defender of both humanity and Earth.
