This was actually done off a photo here on devART but I dont remember whos it was, if you see it floating around please leave me the link so I may link to it.When I saw the photo, it reminded me of when I first found out I was going to be a mother, and the peace, apprehension, guilt, joy that all seemed to flow out of me at one time, and just looking out the window became something entirely new. One day I would be looking out that window with my own child, born of my body and my soul, my gift from God.

Now this is nitpicking, but you know me, i only crit the ones i really like
While the contrast is very well done, you could definitely push it more (this can be an issue if 1. the camera is graying it out, 2. you're using vine charcoal, which is harder to get blacks with.). Dont worry tho, it's a problem i have myself
Also, the head. it jsut doesnt quite match the detail and attention you payed the rest. the field of smeared over black doesnt do your drawing justice!
Oh, and to repeat... i love it!
(and not jsut cause it's charcoal.)

WOW, look at you, and yes you did inspire this, and yes it is vine, and umm yes probably a bad photo. *grins*
I like it, I would like to get better detail in the hands, and the face, all with practice i guess. And you are completely right about switching mediums for awhile to get a new perspective.

One complaint i think it looks much better sitting here on my easel than in the photo.
