This is the second of my commissions from Otakon 2010 done for of the original character he and his friend are putting in one of their upcoming comics.

As it was explained to me: Oleander is a high ranking member of an elite guard force charged with serving and protecting the Holy See. He's older--he's seen his fair share of battles--but he's not out yet. When I pictured him I had the sense of an older man who'd retired but comes back for a reason. The world he exists in is slightly futuristic, hence the look of his sword and the shield. (The shield was specified in particular by )

I had a lot of fun with this one, being a medieval history specialist, and might have put a liiittle too much old fashioned into it, but there you have it.
