Well, to be blunt, it did took me a long while until I managed to see this as art.
Hmmm.. A sense of defiance was what I managed to gist out. To provoke in a way, the subject who was looking directly back at those who are viewing gave that impression, to me at least..
Uhmmm, I would like to take note on the complexion, may be its just the lighting but, it would seem... bah, I would like to suggest that the complexion be consistent. The face was light while the shoulder and everything else there were all natural.

I think the complextion adds to it by drawing you eyes in on her facial expression giving it a more emotional feel.
