Description
i went for a walk in the rain this afternoon. looking for desert streets and hidden places i could go back to be alone. i went to a playground, sat on a swing and rocked myself to the sound of a wordless song.
at first people would pass by me on their cars or hiding under their umbrellas and stare at that girl, completely alone with the tall neglected grass and the muddy puddles, but after a while i went invisible. no one would look, or give a damn.
the rain kept falling for a while, and i waited for it to cease. then i sat quietly until my lonely swing stopped moving, and the water on the puddle under me stopped waving with the late raindrops, and i watched as the dragonflies filled the thick air.
i ran home with wet clothes and bare feet.
