Description
Created for CGChannels August Challenge, How to Tie a Tie.South Sea Port,
New York
Year … 2021
The water is so perfectly smooth this early in the morning; it looks like a sheet of velvet. It’s so sad to see something so peaceful covered in trash. The only seagulls around here are the dead ones floating close to shore. Over the last few years, the sky got so dark it is hard to know what time of day it is. We haven’t seen the sun in way too long. There use to be life at the South Sea Port. Now you wonder if there are even homeless people around.
I loved this challenge and learned alot from participating in it. I had to incorporate at least one 3D element which meant I had to learn a 3D program from scratch. Google sketchup seemed like the obvious choice to begin with.

Hey, thank you. I was really happy with how this piece turned out, though I'm thinking of re-doing some of it for my portfolio. Dunno lol

The atmosphere and the composition beautifully match the description in the artist's comment
The soft water reflecting the gloomy scene, the dark clouds, and the bright city light adds a lot more to the eerie sense in a polluted city kind of feeling
Intense work, very good

Cheers more beers. It was very, very simple 3D block ins just to place buildings which I then textured over ;D
